Dear football,
I'm writing this letter to you because I won't be a professional (职业的) football player any more.
We first met 25 years ago. At that time, playing football was not easy for girls. I was the only girl in the team. There was no women's football on TV.
Sometimes I thought about leaving you because some people kept saying something bad to me on the Internet. I don't make much money in football. I play football because I love the game.
Some people say that you're just a sport, but you teach me so much. Because of you, I learn how to work with others. You also make my dream of playing in the US come true.
Now I feel that people respect (尊重) me for being a good player, and more importantly, for helping move the women's game forward.
Soon I will start a new chapter (篇章) in my life. Now I can't tell what I'm going to do next. But I can say that I'll keep working to drive the women's game forward.
Thank you, dear football, for everything you've given me.
