A Lifechanging Invention
People living in the shantytowns (贫民区) of Chile's coastline see so much water，but they can't drink it because it's too salty.There's also plenty of solar energy on the coast.However，locals don't know how it.Luckily，they have Henry Glogau to help solve these .
Henry Glogau comes from New Zealand.He finds challenges all over the world as of his studies.During his travel in Chile，he noticed that lots of shantytowns there were of power(电力供应)and drinkable water.He wanted to do something for people by helping them to take advantage of natural resources (资源) there.He developed a solar desalination skylight (太阳能海水淡化天窗).
All one needs to do is pouring seawater a bowlshaped skylight.The skylight uses solar to purify (净化) water.The skylight also brings sunlight into houses that are often dark during the day because of a lack(缺少)of windows.
the sun goes down，the leftover salty water is sent into copper and zinc batteries (铜锌原电池) that electricity to power an LED light for nighttime use.This amazing invention kills several birds with one stone.
Now the Chilean community of Antofagasta is using Glogau's invention.It creates a better tomorrow for local people.
