Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is a special day in many countries around the world. People celebrate it in
English-speaking countries like the UK., Ireland, Australia and Canada. In France and the U.S., people call it Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday.
Pancake Day is always in February or March. On that special Tuesday, many people eat pancakes: thin cakes made in a round pan (平底锅). In the UK, people have pancake races (竞赛) to celebrate Pancake Day. In the race, people run with a pancake in a pan. When they run, they need to throw (投) the pancake in the air many times.
