Child actors need to study, but this doesn't mean (意味着) they go to school. Because they work at night, often until late. It's difficult for them to go to school every day. So they often study at home. Many child actors in New York study at an online (网上的) school. Let's ask some child actors in a New York show about it!
Gabbi says, "I watch the lessons, and I can talk to the teachers online. I also have a "learning helper'— my mom! She helps me study and do my homework. Now, I'm studying six subjects."
"It's not easy," says Daya. "There is a show most afternoons and one every night, so it's difficult to do all the work the teachers give us and get good marks. I am not in every show. Two other girls play the same part as me, and that way we al have time for schoolwork and other things — I'm taking dancing and singing lessons. The other girls aren't doing that, but they love playing computer games and reading."
Online learning is also good because child actors sometimes move around. Daya says, "My play isn't showing in New York now. We're touring(巡演) the US and Canada, and we're studying for school tests. We stay in each city for a week, in a hotel. It's a great life! We love it!"
