Do you know Chinese idioms(成语)? Some of them are(hundred)of years old, but people still use (they)today. One example is "hua she tian zu", or "to draw snake and add feet to it".
This idiom comes from a famous Chinese story from the State of the Chu(楚国). An official gave a bottle of wine(酒)to his men to thank them for (prepare)a ceremony(典礼). However, the wine wasn't enough all the men. To solve the problem, the men decided to have a competition. Everyone would draw a snake, and whoever finished (one)would get the wine.
The competition started and soon one of the men finished his drawing. He got the wine (happy)and then started to add feet to his snake. "It will look (good)," he thought. Just at that time, another man finished his drawing. He took the wine out of the man's hand and said, "You fool, snakes don't have feet, what you have drawn is not a snake."
Nowadays, people use the idiom to tell the (true)that going too far is as bad as not going far enough.
