Tonight, I walked into my nearby supermarket. And as soon as I 1  the glass door, I could tell something unusual was happening at the check stand (收银台) near the entrance.

I saw a cashier (收银员) 2 a few things from a shopper's bags. The shopper was an elderly woman. I stood there and quickly 3 that the cashier was removing things from the 4 to cut the amount (数量) needing to be 5 .

I walked quickly over to the check stand, pulled some 6 out of my bag and showed it to the cashier. I 7 the things she was about to put behind her, 8 that I'd pay for them. She put them back down at the check stand and again went to help the woman with her card but it still didn't 9 . I looked at the screen to see the amount, handed the cashier the money and then 10 walked away.

The old woman was a bit 11 and didn't notice me at all, and when she was 12 that everything was paid for, she was confused. I can't even begin to describe to you how 13 this woman looked when I first saw her at the check stand.

I feel so happy that I was able to 14  her a little tonight and hopefully bring some 15 into her life.
