Last Sunday, Emily and her brother, John, went to a restaurant to have dinner. There were lots of people in the restaurant so they had to share their table with another person, who was a young lady in her twenties. After eating, she left in a hurry and left her phone on the table.
When Emily and John prepared to go home, Emily noticed the phone. She quickly told John. "It must be the young lady's phone." John looked at the phone which took his breath away. It was one of the latest models on the market. John had always wanted a phone, but his parents didn't agree.
John stared at it for some minutes. Then he said slowly, "I want to take the phone." Emily could not believe her ears. She shouted at her brother. "You can't! What if the owner comes to look for it?" However, John grabbed the phone and ran out of the restaurant quickly.
Upon arriving home, John locked his bedroom door with trembling hands. Inside his room, he took out the piece of beauty. He liked it very much and polished it happily.
Before sleep, Emily went into John's bedroom and said. "John, you can't keep the phone. Your behavior is wrong. And how will you explain the thing to our parents?" John said. "I will say a friend lent it to me." "You are lying. Oh, dear! When did you turn so dishonest?" said Emily.
Then Emily saw a house phone number on the plastic cover of the phone. "Why don't we just call this number? The owner must be worried. We can talk to her and ask her to come and take back her phone." Emily was trying to persuade her brother to change his mind.
