Steve lives in a mountain village far from the city. He never goes to the city, but he often hears other people talk about , so he wants to go there to have a look.
One day, he comes to New York. After getting the train, he feels hungry and goes to a cafeteria (自助餐厅) to have lunch. He sits down at a table and waits for someone to take his order (点菜).
He waits for about half hour. Nobody comes. "Maybe they are too," he says to himself. So he for another half an hour. Still nobody comes. He is very hungry and angry. Then a woman sits next to him and begins to eat.
" do you get your food?" Steve asks.
"Walk to the line over there and get the food you want. You only need to for it before you leave." the woman answers. "It's very easy."
Later, Steve tells his friend, "From that meal, I understand life is a cafeteria here. If you move your body and use your head, you can anything you want. But if you just sit and wait, will bring anything to you."
