In the primary school, how should the teacher make students1 in the classroom?Issitting in rows2 than sitting in groups?
In the last 30 years or so, scientists have thought about these questions. They think that sitting in rows is not very useful to children.Children can learn3 and better when they sit around a table in a group. They can also learn to get along4 others and exchange ideas.
That sounds quite right. But someone doesn't think so.British Professor Nigel Hastings says that children work5 better in the old fashioned(老式的)way than sitting around in groups. They waste6 time talking when they are placed in groups. When they are made to sit in rows, they pay more attention7 their work. Most children don't do the work with8 children when they sit in groups. The naughtiest(最调皮的)children even won't do it.But if they are made to sit in rows, they Will double their efforts.
So, what do you think of the way of sitting?Who do you agree9 , or do you have10 new ideas?
