BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) — The return capsule (太空舱) of China's Chang'e-5 touched down on Earth. It 1 back the country's first samples (样品) from the moon, as well as the world's freshest lunar samples in over 40 years.
The spaceship 2 north China at 1:59 a.m. (Beijing Time). According to Zhang Kejian, head of the China National Space Administration (CNSA) , declared the Chang'e-5 mission a 3 .
It marks a successful conclusion of China's 4 steps lunar exploration program of orbiting (环绕), landing, and bringing back samples. And the mission 5 in our country in 2004.
The capsule landed in the area 6 , and the search team found it.
"The capsule is set to be airlifted to Beijing for opening. And it will be sent to the research team for 7 ." said the CNSA.
Chang'e-5 is one of the 8 missions in China's aerospace history. Pei Zhaoyu said the Chang'e-5 mission not only ended China's lunar exploration program, but also it's a base for future 9 exploration.
"We hope to work with other countries to build the 10 lunar research station for more scientific exploration and experiments." Pei said.
