A new subject, labor(劳动), has appeared in the primary and middle schools in China.
The country has different hopes for students of different grades, such as being able to cook rice, cook dumping sand sweep the floor for the students in the third and fourth grades. Students in Grade 5 and 6 should be able to cook 2 or 3 dishes, like fried eggs with tomatoes. They also should learn to make the bed and wash clothes.
The good points of doing chores are much greater than we think. An educational organization did a study at some primary schools. They divided(分开) the students into two groups. Group One (about 6, 000 students) like doing chores, while Group Two (more than 13, 000 students) don't like to do chores. To people's surprise, the first group are better at subjects at school than the second group. And I think when children join in the housework, they can truly experience the hard work of parents and be thankful for their parents.
It's quite important for children to learn to take care of themselves. Only by taking good care of themselves can they have a wonderful life.
With the help of parents, children should try doing some chores. And children can feel the joy from working. If children can't do it well, parents shouldn't blame(责备) them. Just then, helping them is much more important.
