Peter's holiday
Beijing is the capital （首都） of our country. It's a city of history and culture. There are some famous sights （风景）, too. Last summer, I went to Beijing with my family by plane. I was excited. I took lots of photos. And I wrote some diaries about the trip. |
Aug. 2nd I like Tian' anmen Square （广场）. It's so big. It's the biggest city square in the world. We went there early in the morning. We watched the raising of the national flag （旗）. It was so exciting. |
Aug. 3rd I was very happy today. We ate Beijing Roast Duck for dinner. It is a famous duck dish from Beijing. It taste very delicious. People come here to eat Roast Duck every day. |
Aug. 4th We went to the Great Wall. It's the longest wall in the world. It looks like a long dragon （龙） between mountains and mountains. There is a saying, "He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man." We all climbed the top of the Great Wall. We felt tired but happy. |
Aug. 5th The Summer Palace （颐和园） is very famous. There are many beautiful sights. We went there by bus. First, we climbed Wanshou Hill. Then we went boating on Kunming Lake. That was so interesting. |
Aug. 6th The Palace Museum （故宫博物馆） is very big. We walked around for a whole day. We saw big halls and many beautiful things. The Palace Museum was built during the Ming Dynasty. Visitors from all over the world come here every year. |
