On April 25th,2024,8:59 p. m., Chinese astronauts (宇航员) Ye Guangfu, Li Cong and Li Guangsu took the Shenzhou-18 manned spaceship (载人飞船) to China's space station. They will stay there for about six months and come back in October.
What makes an astronaut? Astronauts need to be: ✔between 25 and 35 years old ✔between 160 and 172cm tall ✔between 55 and 70 kg heavy |
And they must take some hard tests (测试) .
Test1 Stand strong g-force
Usually, people can stand g-force(重力) of3G to 4G. But astronauts need to stand(承受) force of 8G. That is to say, their body feels heavier than usual. That will make them feel bad. They can't take a breath.
Test2 Keep good balance
To keep good balance (平衡) , astronauts train(训练) by sitting on a fast-spinning (高速旋转的)chair or a big"swing"(秋千) for 15 minutes. Sometimes they will feel sick.
Test3 Be ready for the weightless environment
To be ready for the weightless environment(失重的环境), astronauts train inside a water tank for six hours. After the test, some of them are too tired. They can't hold chopsticks.
The tests are very hard for the astronauts.
