A fisherman has shared a friendship with a four-meter-long crocodile for over 26 years, and calls the reptile (爬行动物) part of the local community.
Ambo, 59 years old, is a fisherman from Indonesia. He has become 1 in his country because of his unusual friendship with a crocodile named Rizka. The crocodile has already been a 2 of his life for the past 26 years. When he 3 saw her in the water, she was only about one meter in length. He didn't pay much attention to her as she swam past his 4 . However, when he 5 that she had followed him home. Ambo threw some food 6 the water. That was the beginning of a 7 friendship. You can't 8 what would happen from then on.
"If I don't see her for two or three days now, I'll go looking for her." Ambo said. "I treat her as my own 9 ."
Over the years, these two unlikely friends became really close. Rizka often floats (漂浮) near Ambo's boat when she sees him and doesn't 10 . Rizka also visits his home whenever she is 11 , and he is more than happy to throw her something to eat.
"When I leave the village, I have to tell my neighbors to 12 Rizka. I had to get neighbors to take care of Rizka after my wife told me once that the crocodile came around when I was away."
When Ambo was away for about two years, working in the capital, he asked local 13 to take care of Rizka for him. They would throw the crocodile something they caught 14 they saw her. Since then, Rizka has become part of the 15 , and people see her as their guardian (卫兵) now.
