"May I borrow your pencil, Sarah? I can't find my own one" Mary asked. Sarah was surprised about that and asked, "I can lend it to you, but I would like to know why you come to me to borrow so often?"
"Because you never lose any of your things, and always know where to find them," Mary said. "I don't know why you can do that, but I can't." Then Sarah told her the secret (秘诀) was to have a place for everything and put everything in its place after using it.
But Mary couldn't believe that because she thought it was very difficult for one to put away a thing as soon as he had used it, she thought it was a waste (浪费) of time. However, Sarah's answer changed her mind and taught her a lesson that she would remember.
Sarah said, "Putting things away is not a waste of time, but our comfort (舒适) is. How much more time will it take to put a thing in its place, than to look for it or to borrow whenever you want to use it?"
D To borrow things from others if she can't find her own.
