Taoping Qiang village, (locate) near the Minjiang River in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, has existed for over two thousand years. The village has witnessed the flames(火焰) of war and is now tourist attraction. Today, visitors are drawn to the picturesque village, (bring) prospertty(繁荣) to the local tourism industry.
The developing tourism has brought new opportunities and benefits to locals, such as Maixi,is a member of the Qiang ethnic group. Her journey has mirrored the remarkable (develop) of her hometown.
Maixi (work) as a shepherd(牧羊人) when she was a little girl. Now 60, she has achieved prosperity by changing her home a homcstay business. Maixi insists on offering only organic ingredients(食材) to her customers, even if it means narrowing her profits. She harvests many of the ingredients herself, and homegrow n plums(梅子) (provide) to all guests as after-dinner snacks.
With a population of more than 1,300, half of the workforce living in the village now takes a job related to the tourism. They also grow (vary) other fruits. In recent years, the average income per mu has been about 60,000yuan.
People of the Qiang ethnic group have not only watched their hometown develop into a tourist destination (rapid), but also experienced the prosperity of the Qiang culture.
