Sara's birthday came and it was about 7 o'clock in the evening. Sara and her family happily got into a Chinese restaurant to have a great 1 there.
The restaurant had Beijing Roast Duck, fried noodles and many other nice dishes. She loved Chinese dishes a lot, and they 2 her favorite ones. Then mom said, " Let's get a large bowl of 3 for you. I hear they're a 4 of long life in China. " " Sounds great!" Sara cried. The dishes soon 5 and the family began to sing the song " Happy birthday" to her.
Suddenly (突然), the lights went out and people all stopped talking. The restaurant was so dark everywhere 6 they couldn't see anything at all. Everyone got a little worried — " What's wrong? How 7 can it be bright (明亮的) again?"
" Dad!" Sara said 8 " We'll have to have a birthday dinner in the dark!"
Soon the restaurant's owner came and said, " Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry for this blackout (停电). But don't worry, our waiters and waitresses will9 you candles.
Ten minutes later, each 10 got a candle on it and people started to talk again.
" 11 !" said Dad, " Look! The candles give out beautiful light, and all the people are wearing a 12 . Don't you think the candlelight makes the restaurant a 13 place?"
" You're right!" Sara looked around and smiled, " Now everything here looks so 14 and great!"
" So we are really 15 to have a birthday dinner here!" said Dad, smiling (微笑) too.
