Many people do not know how to deal with feelings of anger, worry, fear or sadness.
People sometimes focus on(聚焦于) them and let them take over their brains. They sometimes try to fight these thoughts, but again it is useless. The thoughts end up coming back stronger. It's like trying to put out a fire by covering it with paper. The fire will just get bigger.
I want to teach you a way to stop these negative(负面的) thoughts. Think about this the next time your thoughts are troubling you.
"I know that I am feeling negative because of certain things or people, but I also know that having these thoughts is not going to help me in any way. I choose to let these thoughts go and instead think about something positive(积极的) and meaningful. I choose to love myself and I should be happy."If you say this to yourself, you just might feel better. For example, if you feel angry or sad when you hear someone say bad things about you, remind yourself that there are other people around you who also like you very much. That way, you don't get into a habit of bad thoughts (想法).
