Jessica is a junior high school student. Today she's a student traffic (交通) policewoman.
The street in front of Jessica's school is very busy every morning. She and some other students take turns (轮流) to be student traffic police for a day. There are thirty classes in Jessica's school, and every class has three student traffic police.
What do they do as student traffic police? From 7:00 am 10 8:00 am, they work with a traffic policeman at the crossing near their school. "We tell people t0 wait for the traffic lights (等红绿灯). We tell drivers to stop their cars or turn left or right, We keep the students safe, " Jessica says.
In the afternoon, Jessica takes the traffic policeman lo her classroom and helps him give a traffic lesson. "The traffic policeman teaches us some traffic signs and gestures (标志和手势). We also play games to learn about traffic rules. The lesson is interesting and useful. We know how to be safe on the road, " Jessica says.
