Shenzhen Library in Longhua District has introduced China's first drone delivery service (无人机送货服务)to library goers.
The library receives thousands of visitors every day, but hungry visitors had to spend at least 20 minutes travelling to nearby malls to find food. However, things have changed a lot because of drone delivery. It has greatly helped with the food problems for the library visitors.
Drone delivery brings a lot of convenience. Now it takes visitors less than half an hour to have lunch, much shorter than before, and there are different food choices at their fingertips. "There are convenient pickup points near the library. It has also set up a new dining area near the pickup points. In this way, we don't have to suffer from the sun or rain," said Li Xiong, a local.
The delivery process is simple: the deliveryman takes the food (up to 2.5 kg)to the drone airport. The drone then flies to the pickup points and drops the food in a box. Users can scan a QR code(扫二维码)to get their food.
Drone delivery services have also been used in other public places, such as Baishilong Music Park. Besides food, now drones deliver over 1,000 different products.
"The company is working hard to improve the shopping experience for its customers. More parks will be provided with drone deliveries to satisfy the needs," said a manager from Meituan, a delivery company.
Making people's life easier, drone delivery is becoming more and more popular.
