Working effectively with different cultures is a necessary skill for anyone in a culturally diverse work environment. Cultural variations in the workplace may range from simple regional differences, such as varying dialects, to different perspectives on timeliness, productivity, and communication.

Be aware of your words and actions. What seems appropriate to you may not be a cultural standard to another person. Before you give someone at work a high five or a pat on the back, take a moment to consider your actions.
