I am Mary, I started to work at a radio station when I was thirty, I chose this job so that I could travel around the world. The job has taught me many valuable lessons.
In India, I visited a city. There were many homeless children. And they had to live in the streets which couldn't protect them from heavy rain and wind. A lady called Rosa opened her home for them. In one whole year, she looked after two hundred kids, fed them, taught them and gave them hope.
Another time, I was in Turkey and met a young girl. She was seriously ill in an earthquake. After seven operations(手术), she had to have thirteen more in hospital. However, when I saw her, she was still smiling. She was strong and brave.
Here in China, after the terrible Wenchuan Earthquake, I found a three-year-old boy named Lang Zheng. He had been in the ruins(废墟) for more than ten hours before he was found by the soldiers. Though weak and injured, the brave boy lifted his right hand above his head with difficulty and saluted the soldiers to show his thanks, which became the most moving moment in the disaster(灾难).
In life, we need role models that we can admire. Thanks to the experience as a reporter,Iam getting braver and stronger. Now I always remember the courage of these three people when I meet problems in my life.
