Traditional Chinese clothing has a long history and still influences (影响) our lives today. Here are some of the most well-known kinds of traditional clothing.
To better spread the traditional clothing culture, a great Hanfu exhibition was held in Guangzhou Baomo Gardern, which is a Lingnan cultural garden. Hanfu is the traditional costume (服装) of the Han people. Its history can be traced back (追溯) to more than 4,000 years ago when Huangdi's wife, Leizu, made cloth with silk. The Qipao developed from the traditional dress that was worn by Manchu (满族) women, also known as the Qi people, during the Qing Dynasty, so their dresses were named Qipao. People often wear Tang suits when they have important meetings. Since the Tang Dynasty was famous for being rich and powerful, foreigners often called the Chinese who lived abroad "the Tang people".
