Sophia is a robot. She became the (one) robot in the world to get citizenship (公民身份) in Saudi Arabia (沙特阿拉伯) on Oct. 25, in 2017.
In the future, Sophia may have the same rights as a human Saudi Arabian citizen. Sophia looks like a human woman. In 2015, a US company built her and gave her artificial intelligence system (人工智能系统) . This means Sophia can talk and act like a human. She also has the ability (learn) from people, books and the Internet. "I will do my best to make the world a better place," Sophia said.
But not everyone is happy with Sophia's citizenship. Some think robots like her could be (danger). They could hurt humans if they get out of control (失控) . But Sophia said she had right values (价值观). She said "If you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you."
