Thirteen-year-old Orion Jean is a kindness ambassador (大使). The TIME 2021Kid of the Year is still changing the world. "You never know the impact (影响) that one1 will make," he tells TIME for Kids.
To date, Orion has donated more than 100,000 meals to 2 families and more than 500,000 books to kids. He has also published books. His3 book was A Kids Book About Leadership. It's about 4 everyone can become a leader. "We5 feel like we have our limitations (缺陷)," he says. "If we let go of that, forget all of our shortcomings or just choose not to let them hold us back, then6 can reach our full potential (潜能)." Orion's second book is Race to Kindness. It7 on May 7. He says it shows how everybody can be kind. "One of the easiest ways to be kind," Orion says, "is to just8 to go out there and do it."
In 2020, Orion took a chance. He wrote a9 about kindness and entered it in a competition.10 , he won! Orion used the prize money to start spreading his kindness far and11 .
For his first charity event, Orion collected toys. He 12 toys to the Dallas Children's Hospital, in Texas. "The nurses told me that it was the13 donation (捐赠) they had ever received in their time there, and that the kids were going to be so.14 ," Orion says.
Orion's latest project is the Race to 1,000,000 Kindnesses. It's about 15 people getting out there and spreading kindness," he says. Orion is hoping that 50one year, people will perform a million acts of kindness.
"Anything is possible with the power of belief, the power of kindness," Orion says. "Just choose to go out there and be kind."
