With snow mountains around, a group of sheep are enjoying the warm sunshine and eating grass in the field. This is a scene from the TV series (连续剧) To the Wonder, which has become popular since it came out on May 7.
The series is from My Altay, a book written by a Chinese writer Li Juan. It tells the story of Li Wenxiu, a young woman who met some problems at work in Beijing. Then she returned to her hometown Altay to live with her mother, Zhang Fengxia. Zhang has lived in Altay for years and she lives a life true to herself.
People like the series not only for the beautiful scenery (风景) in Altay, but also for the characters and their stories. They show us what true life is and what is really important for us. Li Wenxiu, for example, always dreams of becoming a writer. Although she meets many difficulties, she never gives up writing. As she lives in Altay, she writes about her feelings and experiences. Finally she realizes her dream and gets happiness. People are moved by her spirit and they raise courage (勇气) to chase their own dreams.
When people ask Teng Congcong, the director of the series, about the reasons of making the series, she told New Weekly magazine, "People travel around to see the world and to look for the meaning of life. But the fact is that, we need to look inside, to search for a sense of peace and satisfaction and to realize our own dreams." It is probably this connection (连接) with one's inner (内心) world and search for true beauty that makes the series successful.
