Our Earth is a blue planet. About 71%of the planet is water,according to the United Nations. But people can only use a small amount of it. It's in lakes,rivers and underground. Today,over 663 million people live without safe water.
The UN wants people to know the importance of water. It started World Water Day in 1993. And this year's theme is "wastewater".

The China Water Week is from March 22 to 28. During it the Chinese government(政府)wants people to know better about the new idea of "river chiefs(河长)". It means that every river in China will have a chief. Local government heads will be river chiefs. They need to make sure that factories clean up the wastewater.
