Heart disease (心脏病) kills more people in the UK than any other disease. One person dies every three minutes from heart disease and it's more usual in men than women. Age is also important. 80% of people who die of heart disease are 65 or older. And it's interesting that five times more men die of heart disease in the UK than in Japan. But there are many things you can do to help your heart stay healthy. Here are our top tips for a healthy heart!
Stop smoking. Everyone knows smoking brings you lung cancer (肺癌). It's also very bad for your heart. If you only do one thing to help your heart, do this!
Do more exercise. Regular exercise (油炸食物) four times a week for 30 minutes) is very good for your heart.
Don't eat a lot of fried food and only eat red meat once a week. This kind of food is bad for your heart because it's high in fat.
Eat fish twice or three times a week. It's good for your heart because it's low in fat and high in Omega-3.
Don't eat a lot of salt (食盐) We only need about 1g of salt a day-most people eat about 6g.
Eat more fruit and vegetables (you'd better cat five kinds a day).
Don't be too fat. It's easier for fat people to get heart disease!
Don't drink a lot of wine (酒) but a glass of red wine every day can be good for your heart.
