Welcome to South China Fossil Museum. There are many different kinds of fossils in our museum. First, let me tell you something about fossils. A fossil is a special kind of rock(岩石). Some plants and animals lived many years ago. They died and were buried(被埋)under the ground for a very long time. Finally， these rocks become fossils. Then let me show you some of our fossils. Look at this one in the middle of thehall. It is a fossil of a dinosaur(恐龙). Dinosaurs lived on land before but now we can't see them anymore. Look at that one. It is a fossil of a fish. It lived in the water back then. But now it is in the museum. Can you see the fossil of a leaf? It was soft and green before. But now it is brown and hard. The fossil is a good way to study the history of animals and plants. Some animals and plants disappear forever(永远消失), but scientists can learn a lot about them from their fossils.
