What will you do if your friends have a bad day? You may go to them and try to make them feel better.Elephants can also do same thing.
Some scientists study 26 elephants between the (age) of 3 and 60 at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.They spend 12 months watching these elephants (careful).They find that elephants can know when (they) friends are not happy.For example, some elephants are not happy, the others in the family group will try to give them (friend) touches.They do it by putting their ivory(象牙) in each other's mouth.It (mean) that they' re here to give a helping hand.
The scientists also find something else.The elephants have feelings like people.They leave behind their weak family members.If one elephant is ill, the stronger elephants in the family group always take turns (take) care of it.
The study makes the scientists amazed.They never think that the elephants will care each other so much.Whether the elephants are young or old, male or female, their friends never leave them alone.Not many animals can do that.
