My parents used to tell me how important school was for me, but I didn't think so. I paid little attention to it.
One day, when I walked past a mobile phone store, I saw an advertisement on its door. It was hiring(雇佣) new workers! I went into the shop to ask for the job. The manager looked at me for a few seconds from head to foot, then asked," Do you have a high school diploma(文凭)?"He continued,"”
I felt so ashamed(感到难为情的) and uncomfortable that I didn't know what to say, so I just turned around and left. I could not fall asleep that night.I must go to school or I can't do anything without a good education, "I said to myself silently. I never went back to the store again until I finished my study and got a diploma.
Everything looked the same when I returned to the store. However, compared with last timeI showed my diploma to the manager. He looked at it and said," Great, you are in.'
Now I am still working in the same store. With this experience, I always advise people to attend school. Now I am not worried about my future because I'm still reading and learning books about my work in my free time
A. And I thought a lot about my future. B. Education helps you have a bright future. C. But one thing let me finally realize what my parents meant. D. Learn knowledge all the time. E. I had more confidence. F. Or do you have any work experience? |
I was happy in those days before I started going to school. Because I had good neighbors to play with. I played with them from morning to evening. We played games outdoors, dressed up as cowboys and rode around on our tricycles(三轮车) happily.
At the age of five, I had to go to kindergarten(幼儿园) and it was quite hard for me at first. I felt very sad about having to leave my mother each morning. I cried and wanted my mother around. As the days went by, however, I made friends easily in my class. I became happy again and looked forward to leaving my house each morning.
I still remember those days when I was learning to ride a bicycle. I fell several times but I never gave up. Finally, I was able to join my friends riding around on my bike.
Another memory I like is the end-of-year concert held at the kindergarten. I was chosen to play the role of Jack in the play, Jack and the Magic Beans. I became the superstar that night and received praise for my performance.
What a wonderful childhood I had! At times I really wish I could go back to those days.

Before you visit a country, knowing about the customs of the country is important and useful. Here are 4 customs you should know before traveling to Japan.
No. 4 is avoided at all cost.
In Japan, the number "four" is avoided because it sounds very similar to the word for death. No. 4 is very unlucky as No, 13 in Western culture. And it is used as little as possible. You must always avoid giving anyone something in fours because it can be seen as a very ominous(不吉利的)gt.No.49 is especially unlucky, as it sounds similar to the phrase that means "pain until death". The practice of avoiding No. 4 is called" Tetraphobia (四的禁忌)" and it is common in many East Asian and Southeast Asian regions.
People will sleep on the trains with their head on your shoulder.
If someone in Japan falls asleep with his or her head on your shoulder, it is common practice to Just tolerate(容忍) it, because the place where most people work is far from their homes. After working long hours, many people will get very tired and often fall asleep on the train.
You must always bring a host a gift.
If you want to visit someone, you must always bring a gift. The gift shoud also be wrapped(包). You should also never refuse a gift if someone visits you.
Pouring your own glass is considered rude.
It is common in the US and many other countries in the world to serve others before you serve yourself, _____in Japan you shouldn't pour yourself a drink. If you have poured for others, another guest will hope to see that your drink is empty and pour for you.
