These days computer games have become more and more popular in many cities and towns. A lot of small shops along busy streets have 1 into computer game houses in order to get more 2. These places are always crowded with people.
In the computer game houses, people 3 a lot of money matching on the machines. It's 4 for one to beat a computer, but one can get ahead after trying again and again. People want to win when they play computer games. The more they 5, the more they want to win, and at last they even can't live 6 it.
The result is that some people don't want to 7 and take days off to play in computer game houses for hours and hours. For school boys, things are 8. They couldn't set their mind on their lessons. When school is over, they rush to the computer game houses near their schools. Some of them can get enough money from their parents. Some of them are not 9 to get the money. So they steal others' money and become bad.
Computer game addiction (上瘾) is a serious problem in our life. Something has to be done to 10 it.
The old shoes had brought him much trouble that Jonny decided to throw them away. He went out and threw the old shoes to the rubbish. "Now, they cannot bring me any trouble," he said. He returned home, lay down on his bed and slept.

Then he made a large fire(火) in front of his house and put the shoes in it. Just then, a strong wind came up, and before long the fire made the house burning. His neighbor came at once but could do nothing. The house was burnt down, but the old shoes were saved by the dog again.
I began to send e-mail when I was 17. I discovered Google 5 years later. Now, I use the Internet all the time. Internet has become so popular that 90 percent of 12-to-17-year-olds in the United States use the Internet, and about half of these kids use it every day. They visit chat(聊天) rooms and send e-mails. They go to websites to get information for their homework.
"Kids are now living in a virtual(虚拟的) world," says Greenfield, an expert at the University of California, "As the Internet is becoming more and more important for our life, we should worry about one question: Is the Internet good or bad for kids?"
"It's X to answer the question because the Internet involves(涉及) so many things," says Justine, who is from Northwestern University. "They include online computer games, news, messages and even e-mails to your grandmother." So, more and more people believe that the online world can be helpful in some ways but dangerous in others.

Full Moon, Full Feelings
Chinese people have been the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoying mooncakes for centuries. Mooncakes are in the of a full moon one the Mid-Autumn night. They carry people's wishes to the families they love and miss.
There are many folk stories about this festival. However, most people think that the story of Chang'e is the most touching. Chang'e was Hou Yi's beautiful wife. After Hou Yi shot down the nine suns, a goddess gave him magic medicine to thank him. drank this could live forever, and Hou Yi planned to drink it with Chang'e. However, a bad man, Pang Meng, to steal the medicine when Hou Yi was not at home. Chang'e to give it to him and drank it all. She very light and up to the moon. Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night. One night, he found that the moon was so bright and round that he could see his wife there. He quickly out her favorite fruits and desserts in the garden. How he wishes that Chang'e could come back!
After this, people started the tradition of the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families.
The Reasons of Learning English
Today lots of people in China can speak English and more and more people are learning this language. Then what do they learn English for? We have done a survey and here are some people's reasons:
Alice White: I like traveling by myself very much. I've been to many places in China, and I plan to travel to some foreign countries. English is the most widely used language in the world, so learning English will do great help to my trips.
Mark Smith: I'm actually not so interested in English. I like Chinese much better. However, I have to learn English. We have to take English exams and the score(分数) of English takes a large part in the total score. Luckily, I'm not doing too badly in it, or I'll have to struggle(奋斗) with it.
Ben Green: It is necessary to learn English. As you know, the competition in the job market is very fierce(激烈的). If I have a good knowledge of English, I will have a chance of getting a good job.
Kate Lu: It's interesting, isn't it? I can get information that others can't get. I can talk and write letters to interesting people that others can't communicate with. And I can always make people surprised by speaking good English.
