Last weekend we went camping in a small village in India. First, we took a long bus ride to a lake in the countryside. Then we 1 our tents and made a fire to keep us 2 and cook food on. On the first night, we just sat under 3 moon and told each other stories.
The next morning, my sister and I got a terrible surprise. When we looked out of our 4, we saw a big snake sleeping near the fire. I was so scared 5 I couldn't move. We shouted to our parents for help. My dad started 6 up and down in the tent. This woke the snake up and it moved away. My dad told 7 later that snakes don't have ears but can feel things moving. He 8 told me it was important not to go near a snake. This was a very useful lesson for me.

Dear Marcos,
Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am your new pen pal. I'm twelve years old, and I live in Barcelona, Spain. I go to the 7th grade in Saint Michael School. On weekdays, I get up at 6 o'clock. The school starts at 7:30 in the morning. I have my lunch at the school cafeteria and I usually leave around 3:30 in the afternoon. I am good at math, I also like history and geography but my favorite subject is science. I like playing basketball and soccer. I also play tennis, and I like swimming. On the weekends, I go to the movie theater with my friends. We like action movies. I usually go to church with my parents on Sundays.
Please write and tell me about you and your life. What's your family like? What do you like doing in your spare time? I hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes,
Rebecca
Everyone gets angry. Many things may make you angry. Maybe your teacher gave you too much homework. Or maybe a friend borrowed your favorite video game and then broke it. You may get angry when something doesn't go your way. Maybe you get mad at yourself when your team loses an important game. Or maybe you become a road rager (路怒族) when a driver accidentally cuts in front of you. That makes you angry!
You need to know what to do with your anger. Here are some things you can do when you feel angry:
Count to 10.
Get or give a hug.
Talk to a friend you can trust.
Draw a picture of your anger.
Sing along with the music player.
Take some exercise, such as taking a bike ride, going skating and playing basketball.
Never getting angry is impossible. But when you're angry, you can do something and it can make things better. Don't let anger be the boss of you. Take charge of it!
When I first arrived on this island, I had nothing. But I've found the ship and made a small boat. I've brought back many things I can use—food and drink, tools, knives and guns. Although I have lost everything, I have not lost my life. So I will not give up and I will wait for another ship. I have already cut down trees and built a house. I go out with my gun almost every day to kill animals and birds for food. I'm even learning to grow fruit and vegetables.
A few weeks ago, I found the marks of another man's feet on the sand. Who else is on my island? Not long after that, I saw some cannibals trying to kill two men from a broken ship. One of them died but the other ran towards my house. I helped him kill the cannibals. This man now lives with me and helps me. I named him Friday because that day was the day I met him. He is smart and I have already taught him some English.
