It's hard to make friends if you stay at home alone all the time. Go out of the house and do things to keep in touch with other people. It's easier to make friends in this way.
Don't be afraid to show people what you are really good at. Talk about things you like and do best. People will be interested in you if there is something interesting about you. Watch their eyes when you talk to them. In this way, they can find it easier to talk to you. If you don't, people may think you are not interested in them and may not be interested in you.
Be a good listener. Let people talk about themselves before talking about "me , me, me". Ask them lots of questions. Show an interest in their answers.
Try to make friends with the kind of people you really like—not just with those who are easy to meet. Be friendly to a lot of people. You will have a bigger group of people to choose from and have more chances of making friends.
A. Get your attention somewhere else. B. Do you get really shy? C. Learn to be a good talker. D. Try to smile more. E. Tell people you're shy. |
How do you feel when you go to a birthday party? What about making a speech in front of the class? If you think you are too shy and want to be a little braver, try the following. You can make it!
There is no need to hide(隐藏) it. When they get to know you're a shy kid, they'll understand you better. This also helps you feel more at ease(自在) in talks.
When you smile, people think you are friendly and easy to talk to. Remember that other people have feelings, too. And most people will stay away from an angry- looking person.
If you find it hard to start talks, say something nice about people around you. Think about how great you feel when someone says something nice to you.
Think more about ways to enjoy the party or the game. Don't waste( 浪费) time worrying about your looks or whether people like you or not.
In August, 2012, I visited London with my husband(丈夫) and our two sons Sam and Eric. We spent four days visiting some interesting places and enjoyed ourselves. The fifth day, I wanted to relax at the hotel. But the children didn't like it. So I carefully thought about how we would spend the last day. I read a passage about HMS Belfast in a magazine. In fact, I was not very interested in visiting a warship(战舰), but my sons and their dad liked it. So we decided to go there.
The weather was sunny that day. We left our hotel at 8:00 a.m. It took us about two hours to get to HMS Belfast. Children under 16 were free of charge(免费).The price of the ticket for an adult (成年人) was £14.The warship was very large. We took some photos there. Sam was interested in everything on it and said it was the most interesting place in London.
