Telling the truth is a very good habit. Here is a story of a man who did lots of bad things, but his promise to tell the truth 1 him.
One morning the man came to the prophet(先知) Muhammad and said, "Oh prophet of Allah, I have many bad 2. Which one should I 3 first?"
The prophet said," 4 telling lies first and always tell the truth." The man promised to do so.
He went home and thought about the prophet's 5all day. But at night he planned to go out to steal something. Before leaving home, he said to 6, "If tomorrow the prophet asks me7 I have been, shall I say that I went out to steal? No, I can't say that. But 8 can I tell a lie. If I tell the truth, everyone will call me a thief." So the man decided 9 that night.
Next day, when the man was about to drink10, he thought, "What shall I say to the prophet 11he asks me what I did during the day? I 12 not tell a lie, and if I tell the truth, people will hate me because a Muslim is not allowed to drink wine." So he gave up the idea of drinking wine. 13, whenever the man thought of doing something bad, he 14 remembered his promise to tell the truth. Step by step, he didn't do anything 15. He became a good Muslim and a very good person.

China Eastern Airlines and other domestic airlines have begun to allow mobile phone use on their flights or announced plans to cancel the ban(禁令).
On Thursday, China Eastern Airlines and Hainan Airlines began to allow passengers to use portable electronic devices( PED), such as smart phones and tablets, but phones still have to be changed to airplane mode(飞行模式). China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines announced Thursday they would allow mobile phone use on all their flights soon.
The permission comes after the Civil Aviation Administration of China(中国民用航空局) announced that the ban would be canceled earlier. According to the guideline before, staff in the planes needed to ask passengers to turn off any devices that could interrupt the flight, and even airplane mode was not permitted.
In-flight Wi-Fi is available on 74 of China Eastern Airlines' aircrafts, covering all international routes and 166 domestic routes. Hainan Airlines has enabled in-flight Wi-Fi on 17 of its airplanes.
"Before I just slept aboard the airplane, sometimes read magazines in front of me and then had nothing to do. But now, I can use my social network accounts like Weibo or We-chat," said a passenger named Zuo, who flight with Wi-Fi from Shanghai Thursday
Before 2018, mobile phone use on aircraft was banned over safety concerns. The ban is a common international practice, but with technological development and a higher demand from passengers, the ban has been canceled by some airlines.
Other Chinese airlines are also considering allowing mobile phone use. A number of airlines from other countries already provide in-flight Wi-Fi service, an important factor for passengers choosing flights of different airlines.
On the first day of the New Year 2019,I made up my mind to go to Thailand to teach English as a volunteer. At the beginning, all I cared about was travelling and seeing the world. I didn't know how fantastic my life would be in the coming months!
My journey began with attending TESOL certification(认证) course in my home state of Florida last February. After 3 weekends of study and another 40 hours' study online, I received my TESOL certificate.
I was asked to contact Philip, who is Program Director of the Teach in Thailand. After discussing with Philip, I chose my school and after many months of excitement,I finally flew to Thailand in early April and I couldn't wait to explore the country!
After a few weeks of single travel, I met up with Philip and the other new teachers in my program in Bangkok. It was great to meet other people who were on the same journey as me, see some cool sights and walk in Thailand's cities! After that, I attended the weeklong seminar(研讨会). At the end of the seminar, I was transported to my school—Anuban Buriram Primary School.
I truly love my job—I teach Grades 5 and 6 and I have the cleverest and most active kids in the world. It's a truly fantastic thing that you can see the difference you make in someone else's life, right in front of you!
Buriram is a small city with green rice fields. People here are more friendly than anyone I've ever met—I've never been anywhere where a smile is so easily received, where everyone you pass is so friendly to say "Hello" and "Good morning". I've been taken out to countless dinners, and been lent a guitar, a camera, and I am given Thai treats and the most delicious fresh fruits many times a week. I only hope to repay them in the future.

With their long tusks (象牙), elephants look strong. However, it is this feature that makes the
animal endangered. Many of them are killed for their tusks. People make elephant
tusks into crafts (工艺品) and jewelry and sell them to rich
people.
But can these priceless body parts grow
back? The answer is no, Live Science said. The elephants' tusks are actually part
of their teeth. Nearly all African elephants and most male Asian elephants have
these long teeth. About one-third of the tusk is in the animal's skull (头骨). The tusk has a nerve (神经) running down its
center. This makes it similar to your teeth. Once you lose a tooth, you will never
grow a new one.
Elephants use their tusks to protect themselves,
lift things, dig water and gather food. But losing the tusk will not kill them.
The way in which they lose the tusk is what matters. Usually, people get tusks by
culling (限量捕杀), which means killing old and weak elephants.
They also take tusks from the elephants that have died naturally.
However,
these sources aren't enough to keep up with the demand for ivory. Therefore, some
poachers (偷猎者) kill healthy elephants and cut their
faces open to remove the tusks. About 27,000 elephants are killed by poachers each
year, according to National Geographic.
As a result of poaching, some African
elephants gradually evolved (进化) without tusks, which has
allowed them to survive. In Mozambique, about 90 percent of African elephants were
killed for their tusks and meat from 1975 to 1992, National Geographic reported.
Scientists found that about a third of
younger females—the generation born after 1992—never developed tusks.
All over the world, and for many different reasons, there are millions of people who never eat meat. These people are called vegetarians(素食主义者). To people who eat meat, being a vegetarian may seem like a very strange thing. But they won't eat meat for several different reasons.
First, vegetarians have a big health advantage. One of the major health problems in modern world is too much food, especially in the form of animal fats. Medical study suggests that animal fats, including butter, quicken the development of cholesterol (胆固醇) in the human body. Too much cholesterol seems to be part of the cause of heart disease. Most vegetarians have low level of cholesterol. Too much animal fats also seem to lead to certain kinds of cancer, and vegetarians have less these cancers than people who eat a lot of meat. Overall, studies comparing the health of vegetarians and meat-eaters show that the meat-eaters are twice as likely to die of heart disease as vegetarians are.
Better health is one reason that people choose to become vegetarians. Another reason is religion (宗教). Eating of meat is never allowed in some religions. The largest of these is the Hindu religion, which has about.600 million believers in the world. Although not all Hindus are vegetarian, many are, and there are many believers of other religions, such as Buddhism and even some Christian religions that also do not eat meat. Many vegetarians do not eat meat simply because they do not like the taste of it. They have no religious or other reasons; they just do not like meat. Another important reason that vegetarians give for not eating meat is the health advantages that were given above. Lastly, there are many people who do not eat meat because they just do not like the idea of killing animals for food. They believe that life, all life, is valuable and that we do not have to destroy life to feed ourselves when there are other good sources of food.

We cannot obtain (获得) knowledge without our teachers' help. Their instructions are indispensable(不可或缺的) to our growth. Also, we have steachers in our lives—our parents. H,
are they the best teachers for us throughout our lives? Some people believe that
they are the best "teachers" for us. However, there are many people who
hold a dopinion. My answer is
that they are the best teachers.
Firstly, your parents know you b than anyone else. Unlike most teachers who have
a lot of students to take care of, your parents have you as their o focus (焦点). And in most
situations, you spend most of your time with them, e when you are young. That means they know your strengths
and w very well. As a result, they know how to make you
a better person more effectively (有效地).
S, most parents have more patience (耐心) with their children. Parents are like your close friends. When you
get in t, they are always willing
to try their best to help you. They will not be impatient, like some teachers are.
Over time, this will e you to raise more questions and deal with challenges.
In a word, parents
are the best teachers for us.
