Lauren watched the Smiths putting their bags into their car. They were on their way to Florida for a vacation. It was Lauren's 1 to go on a vacation like them.
"What's up, Lauren?" her brother Mark asked.
"I'm wishing my 2 was Smith. Then I'd be on my way to Florida. Look at 3 dog. He is also going along for the trip, but I'm not."
"4 feeling sorry for yourself (你自己). You know Mom and Dad are 5 ," Mark said.
The blue car soon 6 and took the Smiths to paradise (天堂).
Dad came out and sat down." I think I could rearrange (重新安排) my work and take a long weekend. We couldn't go anywhere (任何地方) 7 like Florida, but we could go to Cape May. It's only about three 8 ride from here."
Lauren knew he was doing this for her." Is it really okay with your 9 ?"
Dad said, "I was kind of wishing I could go with the Smiths, too. Because of you I know how much I need a 10 trip."
"It sounds like an excellent trip," Lauren said.
Dave: Angela, what did you do last weekend?
Angela: I did my homework on Saturday and went to the zoo on Sunday.
Dave: Did you have a good time at the zoo?
Angela: Yes, we had a great day. I took my little sister Maria — it was her birthday. First we went to the aquarium (水族馆) because Maria loves dolphins (海豚).
Dave: Really? And how many dolphins did you see?
Angela: Oh, there were about six or seven, quite a lot. There were also some sharks (鲨鱼) — just small ones, with big teeth!
Dave: So what did you do after that?
Angela: Well, then we had lunch. And after lunch we went to see the "big cats"— the lions and the tigers. They were great!
Dave: Lions and tigers! I like them. And how many other animals did you see?
Angela: Um, we saw some bears — three or four bears, I think. Maria liked to see them. She wanted to see some elephants too, but we couldn't see them — they were sleeping. There weren't any camels or giraffes, but we really had a great day.
Hello! My name's Kevin. I want to tell you about my day.
Usually I wake up at 7:15. I always brush my teeth and have a shower in the morning. At 7:45 it's breakfast time! Usually my mom cooks breakfast, but sometimes my sister helps her. I have bread and eggs for breakfast. At 8:05 I go to school with my brother.
The school day is really long! We always start at 8:30 and have 3 lessons till (直到) 11:15. Then we have lunch in the dining hall. The food there is not tasty. That's why I don't eat much. I just take an apple and sometimes a cup of tea. If the weather is good, we play games in the school yard after lunch. The break (休息) finishes at 12:00. After that we have 3 lessons till 14:45.
Sometimes I play soccer with my friends after school, but more often I go home and have dinner. My mother works, but she leaves some food for me. Usually it's soup and hamburgers. I watch TV over dinner. I know it's not good for my health, but I like to do something when I eat.
From 16:00 to 19:00 I do my homework. After that I usually play computer games and then read. I go to bed at 22:00.
I am Donnie and I am a good dog. I live with my brother Buddy. He is good, but he jumps up on things a lot. I don't like to do it. We live in a cute doghouse in the backyard. We keep the yard safe (安全的). If we see anyone strange (陌生的), we bark (吠叫). Then the person knows he must stay away from our home. Buddy likes to jump up, and that really scares people away.
I love when Mr. Smith feeds us. Mr. Smith is good too. I think he's very smart. Sometimes Mr. Smith isn't home for a long time. But he leaves out food and water for us, so I can't complain too much. Today the food is good and Mr. Smith stays home all day. He is reading a fun book.
On cold days, Mr. Smith asks us to stay inside. Buddy sometimes gets us in trouble (麻烦) by jumping up on the sofa. I try and get Buddy to be good because I want to stay inside longer. But Buddy is not very good at being good!
It is a rainy day. A train stops at a small station. He looks out of the window and sees a shop. A woman is selling cakes in the shop and the cakes look nice. But the shop isn't near the train. The man doesn't want to walk in the rain. Then he sees a boy. The boy is about five years old. "Come here, boy!" says the man, "Do you know how much the cake is?" "Two dollars for one." says the boy. "One is for you and the other is for me," he says to the boy.
After a while (过了一会儿), the boy comes back. He gives the man two dollars and a piece (块) of cake. "Sorry, there is only one cake left (剩余). I eat one half of the cake and here is the other half for you," says the boy.
A. He's eating a piece of cake. B. The man wants to buy a cake. C. He is playing near the window. D. A man is on the train and he feels hungry (饥饿的). E. The man gives the boy four dollars and asks him to buy two cakes. |

Do you have a favorite place to go? A place with family, good weather and fun to do, like flying a kite in the park and volleyball on the beach? I'm glad I do. New Jersey is favorite place.
Over half of my family in New Jersey. I often go there during my summer holiday. My aunts take my cousins and me to see animals in the zoo, go in the river and so on. We laugh (笑) and play. We have a(n) time.
The weather in New Jersey is nice. When I think about my visits, I can feel a warm summer sun my face. If I meet the crab season (捕蟹季节), we crab. Once (曾经) my cousin a crab. It was so big that it got stuck (卡住) in the crab cage. I think it's good to a favorite place, and you can really enjoy yourself.
