Mark and David found the aye— aye. The aye— aye has bright eyes. It has ears like a bat, a body like a cat and a tail like a squirrel. Some people think the aye— aye brings bad luck. They killed many of them, and cut down a lot of trees where the aye— aye lives as well.
A Stranger Parrot
Mark and David found the biggest parrot in the world that cannot fly. Many years ago, some animals came to the place the parrots lived in, and killed many of them. Now there are only a few left.
Another Special Animal
Mark and David went looking for a manatee. A manatee looks like a seal and a hippo. In some places where manatees live, the water in the river gets low. Then the manatee swims to the place where there is more water. Many get stranded(搁浅), and some are killed by other animals and people, too.
After Mark and David returned, they made a film about these animals. They want to show the world these strange but interesting animals. They want the world to know there are not man of them left, and they all have a place in our world.
To travel around the world is the dream of many adventurous people. But very few people can afford a global tour because hotels, food and airplane tickets are too expensive. Some people, however, have thought of some ways to realize their dreams.
Laura Cody and Tanbay Theune, a couple from Britain, decided to travel around the world. They have found a good way to pay for their trips. They look after pets for rich house owners. In exchange, they can stay in the houses for free. They have looked after horses, cows, cats, dogs and fish. In two years, the couple has been to Australia, Germany, Spain and Italy. Redwood Museum of Zhongshan City Redwood Museum of Zhongshan City is in Da Chong Town. If you are interested in all kinds of beautiful and expensive redwood furniture(家具), you can't miss it. All of them are pieces of art. Some of them are on sale. D. Jinzhong Reservoir Jinzhong Reservoir is a good place for people to have fun on weekends. It's in the center of Zhongshan City. You can go hiking around the lake. You can also have a bike riding there. It will take you about 2 hours to walk around it. E. Zhongshan Hot Spring It's in San Xiang Town. It has many different kinds of hot spring. You can relax yourselves and have a good rest there. It's good for your health, especially in winter. But it's not good for those who are sick. F. Sun Wen West Road Pedestrian Street It's a symbol of Zhongshan. There you can see old buildings, some historical pictures about Zhongshan and a lot of shops. You can also enjoy the local food and experience the local culture. It was one of the most famous streets in China in 1980s. G. Zhangshan Movie City It's also in Nan Lang Town, next to the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. There are lots of buildings in different styles. It's a good place for teenagers to know different cultures of other countries, such as America, England and Japan. |
