    I am a middle school student. Now let me tell you something about our classroom. It's very clean and bright. There are 1 maps on the back wall. One is a map of China, the other one is a map of the world.

    There isn't an easy way to learn English, but there are some good ways: speak, listen to, read and write English.

    Speak English with your teachers and your classmates in and out of the class. Listen to your teachers, your classmates and anyone when they speak English. Don't just read the textbooks, go to a bookshop and find some easy English books to read, Write short articles (文章)if you can.

    These things are not difficult, if you work hard. Remember not to be afraid of making mistakes(错误). When you have trouble(麻烦) in learning it, you can ask your teachers and classmates. With the help of them, you will learn English well.

    Each year, we celebrate (庆祝)many holidays here in America. On January 1^st, we welcome the coming of a new year like many people in other countries. And we have another four holidays on the first day of a month: April Fool's Day, May Day, Friendship Day (Aug. 1^st) and Grandparents Day (Sept. 1^st).

    The most important holiday for the young people comes in February. It is Valentine's Day. Lots of boys give red roses to girls as a present.

    People celebrate some holidays for their family members. We say thanks to our mother in May and celebrate Father's Day in the following(接下来的)month. In November many people return home for Thanksgiving Day, so the whole family can get together.

    There are also some interesting holidays for children. For example, Halloween comes at the end of October. Children often play with pumpkin lanterns(南瓜灯)and put on all kinds of masks(面具).

    Of course, the most important festival is Christmas. After a year of work and study, people can enjoy a long holiday, eat big meals, and visit families and friends.

    We call the Chinese New Year the Spring Festival. It usually comes in January or February. There is a name for each Chinese year. We may call it the year of the pig, the year of the monkey or the year of the horse. And this year (2020年)is the year of the rat.

    Before New Year's Day, people are busy shopping and cleaning their houses. On New Year's Eve, there is always a big family dinner. They cook many dishes for the dinner. The dishes are all delicious. Family members eat and talk. They feel happy. After dinner, all the family stay up late to welcome the New Year. Sometimes they watch TV programs. They are very interesting.

    On the first day of the New Year, people put on their new clothes and go to visit their relatives (亲戚)and friends. They say "Best wishes" and some other greetings to each other. They play games and have many other things to do. People usually have a very good time during the festival.
