When I was a student, what others thought was important to me. I was much 1 than my classmates. Being so tall made me 2. So I joined the group that played jokes on others at school to keep the attention off my unusual 3.
I played many jokes on others. I thought they were 4, but many people didn't think so, including my parents, because most of the jokes were harmful. My parents reminded me of the "Golden Rule": 5 others as I'd like to be treated. They wanted me to be a 6 who was an example to others. Whatever I started to do, they taught me to set my own goals and try my best. They always encouraged me to be a big man 7 my heart as well as in my body. I asked myself whether it was important to be the kind of person as my parents said. I knew they were right and 8 their advice. Once I was the best at basketball and really became a leader in the game.
I sometimes have to stop and think 9 I act, and I make mistakes once in a while—everyone is human. But I continue to 10 chances that can make me a good example because of my parents' advice. I now pass it on to you: "Be a leader, not a follower. Since people have to look up to you, give them a good reason to do so."

One day, as two little boys were walking along the road, they passed a woman carrying a large basket of apples.
The boys thought the woman looked very pale and tired, so they said, "Are you going to town? If you are, we will carry your basket." "Thank you," replied the woman. Then she told them that she had a disabled son. She lived in a small house three miles away, and was now going to the market to sell the apples which grew on the only tree in her little garden. She needed the money for their living.
"We are going the same way you are," said the boys and they took hold of the basket, one on each side, and trudged along with merry hearts. The poor woman looked glad, and said that she hoped their mother would not be angry with them. "Oh, no," they replied, "Our mother has taught us to be kind to others, and to be useful in any way that we can."
The woman then offered to give them a few apples for their help. "No, thank you. We want nothing for what we have done," said the boys. When the woman got home, she told her son what had happened on the road, and they were both made happier that day by the kindness of the two boys.
Another day, the woman saw his son stop and pick up a piece of orange peel, which he threw into the dustbin. "I wish people would not throw orange peel on the sidewalk," said the son." Someone may walk upon it, and fall. "That is right, my dear," she said. "It is a little thing for you to do what you have done, but it shows that you're thoughtful and considerate (体贴的)."
You may wonder whether stress (焦虑) is a serious matter. The answer is "Yes". You should realize that stress is a risk to your health. If you want to live a long and healthy life, you need to begin to guard against stress from a young age.
Here are some ways to deal with stress and bring balance (平衡) to your life:
Be positive
One way to cancel out (消除) stress is through positive thinking. You should always look on the bright side of life, and imagine that you will have a happy and successful future.
Learn to relax
Force yourself to take a break from your studies and worries about exams. You can do this by taking a walk, reading a book, going to a concert or seeing a film, or just sitting in a private place and being silent for a moment.
Take up a hobby
Learn to paint, take up skating, or start playing a musical instrument. When you are busy with a hobby, you leave all your worries behind.
Take care of your body
Stress is your body's enemy. Taking exercise, eating healthily and getting enough sleep are all the things that can help you.
Laugh
Sometimes laughter is the best medicine for stress. Seeing a funny film or telling jokes with friends will often cheer you up when you are low.
Only a few days ago, the first-ever China Huafu Day was held to encourage young Chinese people to wear and take pride in hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Han ethnic group (汉民族).
The organizers said, "Traditional culture is the lifeblood of China. We hope young Chinese people can wear our traditional clothing during festivals to show China's unusual culture to the world. This will also make them understand the culture better and feel proud of being a Chinese." The event invited people to post their pictures in traditional clothes. By April 22nd, it had already got over 155 million page views, with thousands of people sharing their pictures.
Historically, hanfu has influenced many of the neighboring cultural clothing including the Japanese Kimono and Korean Hanbok. However, hanfu started to fade when Manchu people took control of China. Luckily, there has been a rise in popularity over recent years. According to Hanfu Information (HI), a hanfu promotion (宣传) group, over 21,000 sets of hanfu were sold online earlier this year. Another online survey by HI in 2017 showed that over 88% of people believe that wearing hanfu is a good way to learn about Chinese culture. It's true that the number of hanfu fans is growing.
The organizers say they will make China Huafu Day a yearly event and they have set the third day of the third month of the traditional Chinese calendar as the date of the event.

A new app called Face Mapping, invented by scientists at Oxford University, can check our facial expressions to judge our mood and then suggest the perfect food to cheer us up, or to make us get rid of anxiety. Face Mapping scans (扫描) the face for signs of emotions, such as downturned lips, eyes, and frown lines, and it can often pick up feelings which are hidden in a person's heart and he may not notice.
"Face Mapping can provide a more correct and objective conclusion of a person's mood or feeling than he himself can feel," said Prof Spence. More and more evidence shows our mood has an important effect on our smell and taste—it can stop us from receiving the right signals of smell and taste. However, food can also influence our mood. People often stop eating when they are unhappy because food simply does not taste as good as it tastes when people are happy.
It can test anger, disgust, fear, surprise, sadness and joy and make menu suggestions according to what it finds. For example, an angry face suggests that a person is stressed and he needs food that can bring happiness to him, such as dark chocolate and nuts. In contrast (相反), people who are excited may benefit from food which makes their blood sugar (血糖) normal, such as grains and beans.
"Face Mapping is at the top of the science and technology. And in the future, it is likely to become more popular," Prof Spence added.
