Kate was trying to fall asleep when her 8-year-old brother, Dick, came into her room. Dick looked around in 1 room, and then he went back into the hallway and stood there 2 the light above.
Sometimes Dick likes to play jokes on his sister, but it was really 3 for her to see her brother behave like that. Kate didn't know what to do. Just then, their father 4 and explained that Dick was sleepwalking.
Not all 5 is the same every night. We experience quiet sleep or active sleep. Dreams happen 6 active sleep. You might think sleepwalking would happen during active sleep, too. But a person isn't physically active during active sleep. Sleepwalking 7 happens in the first few hours of sleep.
Not all sleepwalkers actually 8 . Some simply sit up or stand in bed or act just like they're awake. At that time, 9 , they're asleep! However, most do get up and move around for a few seconds or for as 10 as half an hour.
Sleepwalkers' eyes are open, 11 they don't see the same way they do when they're awake. And they often go to 12 rooms of the house or different places. Sleepwalkers can go back to 13 on their own and they won't 14 it the next morning.
Researchers estimate* that up to 15% of the 15 , from 6 to 12 years old, sleepwalk regularly. Sleepwalking may happen when a person is sick, has a fever, or is stressed.

Venus is the second nearest planet from the sun. It is only a little smaller than the earth, about 95% of the earth's diameter and 80% of the earth's mass. Earth and Venus are sometimes called the twin planets.
The word Venus means the goddess of love and beauty in Greek. __________ probably because it is one of the brightest planets we have known by now. We human beings have known Venus for a long time. It has a cloudy atmosphere. This helps it reflect sunlight. So it appears to be very bright. It is easily observed in the sky. It is seen near the sun. It seems that it is the brightest thing in the sky except the sun and the moon. Venus reaches its maximum* brightness shortly before sunrise or shortly after sunset, and is often thought as the Morning Star or as the Evening Star. A lot of observation of Venus was important to Copernicus's Heliocentric Theory * of the solar system.
Scientists for years thought that Venus was very likely to have life in some forms. In 1962, scientists sent the first spacecraft to explore Venus, and we will know more about Venus in the future.
Every year, a lot of children in the USA go to summer camps. Some go to play outdoors in the woods, in the mountains or on lakes. But families now have many choices of special camps. These can be in the middle of nature or a big city. Special camps offer young people the chance to learn about different subjects.
In technology camps, one subject that children can learn about is video game design. They learn how to use computer programs to create games of their own. One program that teaches video game design is called Cyber camp. Children can learn how to design their own virtual* worlds to set their video games in. Then, they program their own rules and objects into the games.
Cyber camp also offers courses in robot building and Web design. A recent story in the Washington Post described how one child made a robot that could sing a song. Another made a robot that could follow a black line drawn on a piece of cardboard. Also, children can learn how to make websites. One child made a site for Pokemon, one of his favorite cartoon shows.
A bird went to look for its happiness in the distance. It flew and flew when it suddenly saw a little wilting* flower. Its face was full of smile. Not knowing why, the bird asked the flower,
"You're going to die. Why are you still so happy?"
"Because my dream will come true." said the flower. "What's your dream?" asked the bird.
"To bear delicious fruit."
Then the little bird saw it: happiness is a hope in the heart.
The little bird kept flying. It flew and flew when it suddenly saw a lame* duck which was singing a song. Not knowing why, it asked the duck, "The fate treats you so unfairly. Why are you still so happy with yourself?"
"Because I saw a little duck fall," said the duck." So are you happy because you saw it trip over itself?" asked the bird.
"No, I'm happy because I helped it stand up again."
Then the little bird saw it: happiness is a love in the heart.
The bird kept flying. It flew and flew when it suddenly saw a spider climbing up a slippery wall. The spider fell off the wall midway, but it kept climbing again and fell off again. This didn't discourage the spider. It kept climbing over and over again. Not knowing why, the little bird asked the spider, "You failed again and again. Why don't you have pain but happiness on your face?"
"As long as I keep making my efforts, there is still hope to climb up it. Because of this, I'm so happy," said the spider.
The little bird saw it: happiness is a faith in the heart.
So the little bird pursued happiness no longer because it had seen the truth: happiness is not in the distance but in your own heart.
