—Yes, I do. But I don't know ___________it.
— Congratulations!
When I was 7 years old, I went to the USA with my mum. I can still1the first Halloween holiday I had in the USA.
2the morning of Halloween, we paid a visit to a pumpkin farm.3of us brought a pumpkin to school. I used the pumpkin to make a lantern4had two triangle eyes and a scary mouth. In the afternoon, we5the Halloween costumes and went on parade in school. Some of the costumes were nice,6some of them looked scary. I chose to wear a suit of Superman's clothes.
I did a lot of7that day, but the part I liked8was "trick or treat" in the evening. After dinner, I went outside with an empty bag. I hoped9a lot of candies from people.
At first, I was a bit nervous,10when I knocked at the door, my heart was11very fast. A lady came out, and I said carefully to12, "Trick or treat." My voice was very low, so low that I couldn't hear13speak. To my surprise, the lady was14kind that she gave me two candy bars, and I was so15, thanked the lady and moved on. I couldn't remember how many houses I visited, but I could remember how many pieces of candy I got—I got 91 pieces.
What a happy Halloween I had! And I wish we could have a Halloween every month!

Embroidery (刺绣) has a long history and can date back to the Warring States period in China. Embroidery is very popular in many countries such as China, India, and Japan. Embroidery is the handicraft (手工艺) of decorating fabric (衣料) or other materials with needles and thread or yarn. Embroidery may also use other materials such as metal strips, pearls, quills, and sequins. Embroidery is most often used on caps, hats, coats, blankets, stockings, and golf shirts. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of thread or yarn colour.
Embroidery has many unique characteristics (特点). One of the interesting characteristics of embroidery is the basic techniques or stitches (针法), such as the chain stitch, the button hole or the blanket stitch, the running stitch, the satin stitch and the cross stitch. They are still the fundamental techniques of hand embroidery today.
Embroidery can be classified (分类) according to whether the design is stitched on top of or through the foundation fabric; and by the relationship of stitch placement to the fabric. Different embroidery has its own advantages and disadvantages. In the modern society, we can produce many different embroideries. Machine embroidery is one of them. It appears in the early stages of the Industrial Revolution.
Once upon a time there were two boys who lived in a palace and worked for the King. One boy fell in love with a girl and wanted to give her a present. He suddenly saw a vase filled with the loveliest flowers.
He decided to take one flower and give it to the girl. He did the same thing the next day, and the next, and the next...until, one day, the King noticed only a few flowers were left in the vase. The King was so angry that he gathered everyone in the palace and decided to find out the truth.
When they all stood before the King, the boy thought he should tell the truth. However, the other boy told him not to tell the truth because the King would be angry with him. When the King came near, the boy shook with fear. But he still decided to confess.
As soon as he told the truth, a smile appeared on the King's face. The King said to the boy, "I couldn't have thought of a better use for my flowers."
Then the King went to the vase and took two of those wonderful flowers, one for the girl, and the other for the Queen.
①The boy shook with fear and told the truth.
②The King took two flowers out of the vase.
③The boy gave the girl some flowers.
④The King wasn't angry and smiled.
⑤The King gathered everyone together.
⑥The King found out that someone took flowers.
It seems that Americans are more willing to help strangers than Chinese.
Once I walked on the street and tried to find my way to my hotel. I found that I was lost. So I stopped, took my map out and began searching for the right way. Then a lady came to me with a friendly smile. I wondered if I was in her way. Before I was about to stand aside (到旁边), the lady asked, "Do you need any help? I can show you the way." I was very surprised. In China, most people won't give you a hand unless you ask. I said yes to her. She carefully gave the directions to me. I was touched by her selfless behaviour and warm attitude (态度).
After experiencing many such things in the USA, I thought about the situation in China. My teacher in China told me that several years ago he travelled to another city by himself. After a whole day's hard work at a factory, he bought a pancake at a stall (货摊). But he later found that it was bad. The seller cheated (欺骗) him. Since then, he always checks the food he buys on the street. Even today we often see news that shows we don't trust strangers.
Chinese people are more vigilant to strangers because they are afraid to get hurt. But many American people believe that if you love others first, you will be loved. I think we should learn from this attitude and rebuild the trust among people.
I to believe what you have said.
There are many good films to be shown I don't know which one to see.
Are you everything?
The big tree the wind last night.
every day is for our health.
Each different part of China has its own special forms of traditional art. These usually try to show the things are important in life, such as love, beauty and family. The most common things, from paper to clay to bamboo, are turned into objects of beauty.
According to Chinese history, sky lanterns were first used by Zhuge Kongming. He sent them out (ask) for help when in trouble. Today, sky lanterns are used at festivals and other celebrations. They (make) of bamboo and covered with paper. When the lanterns are lit, they slowly rise into the air like small hot-air balloons for all to see. They are seen as bright symbols of (happy) and good wishes.
Paper cutting (be) around for over 1, 500 years. Paper cutting sounds very easy , it can be difficult to do. The paper, usually red, is folded before it is cut with scissors. The most common pictures are flowers, animals, and things about Chinese history. During the Spring Festival, it is put on windows, doors and walls symbols of wishes for good luck and a happy new year.
Chinese clay art is famous because the clay pieces are so small but they look very real. The pieces are usually cute children or lively characters from a Chinese fairy tale or historical story. The pieces are (careful) shaped by hand from a very special kind of clay and then allowed to air-dry. After (dry), they are fired at a very high heat. They are then polished and painted. It takes several weeks (complete) everything. These small pieces of clay art show the love that all Chinese people have for life and beauty.
Once a king got two nice falcons (猎鹰) from his son. He had never seen such beautiful falcons before. He loved them so much and he ordered the best falconer to train them to fly.
After several months, the king came to see how the training was going on. He found that one falcon had already been able to fly high in the sky, while the other one was staying on the branch (树枝) of a tree quietly without moving.
The king called all his falconers together and ordered them to try every way they could to make it fly. But none of them succeeded. One day, while the king was taking a walk in the forest, an idea came to his mind. He decided to find someone who knew the natural environment well to solve the problem. Then he sent for a farmer who lived in the forest into his palace to train it at once.
The next morning, the king saw the other falcon flying above in the sky freely. "It is unbelievable! "shouted the king. "How could you make it happen?"
The farmer replied, "It's very easy. I just cut off the branch where the falcon rested."
It is always the same to humans. We all have "two flying wings" in our hearts as well, but we often seem not to notice them and stay where we feel safe and comfortable. We won't realize we can fly so high and freely until the "branch" we are resting on breaks.
