Look Within to Find Happiness
How often do you hear people say, "I will be happy when.... " such as " When I get that thing, I will be happy," "I will be happy when I pass the exam" and "I would be happy if I had more money". I 1 these things before and I am sure that I will hear2 again.
Many people want to believe that finding happiness is all about finding or getting something that they want 3, not many people have ever found long - term happiness by achieving a goal. There will always be 4 thing that they want. There will always be another exam or another dollar.
To break this vicious (恶性的)cycle, we must find our happiness somewhere else—within ourselves. In other words, happiness is 5 an inside job. The key 6 happiness is to understand that happiness is a choice rather than the result of an experience. We have been given __7.
We need 8. Allow yourself to choose happiness. If life was perfect, would you be happy? Life is perfect because we create it with our choices. Since we can create life, we can create happiness and choose 9 better our life can get!
Only when we can accept that life is perfect 10 it is, and that our lives are the sum total of everything that has happened until this moment, can we accept the joy and the happiness we should own.

I remember the first time I got on a horse. I was two years old and we were watching a friend of the family ride. My mom agreed to let me take a short ride around the ground with the friend and that was it' I became crazy about having a horse. From then on, I drove my parents mad begging for a horse. Whenever I saw a horse, I would beg even harder.
When I was four years old, problems appeared in my life. I had Selective Mutism(选择性缄 默症). This is an unusual childhood disorder(失调)in which children stop speaking in certain social situations, many times at around the age of four. I spoke to my parents as usual, my brother and certain other people, but was silent at school and in social situations. I went days, weeks, months without a sound at school. At most, I might very quietly speak to a friend.
My parents looked for a cure. One psychologist(心理医生)had an idea. Having discussed his plan with my parents in advance. one day I was asked by the psychologist what I wanted more than anything in the world. He explained that I was going to be given a chance to work for what I wanted. I couldn't believe my good luck, but I could not answer. I just stood there. Finally, I was allowed to whisper(低声说)the answer in my mother's ear. "A horse," was all I could say.
I was to get a little horse, but before we could even start looking, I had to try to talk. I had a chart of weekly tasks I had to finish. I had lo answer the phone five times every week, something I had never done before. I did everything that was asked of me and the day came when my parents found the perfect horse. His name was Sequoia, a strong little chestnut(栗子马). He was perfect , of course, and I fell in love immediately. It truly was a dream come true. When I was with Sequoia, I forgot all about my problems and felt strong and life.
By connecting with them, I have learned to hug what I was once not able to do and I found my voice back.
A man was walking along the street when he saw a woman carrying a large box. It was half in and half out of her car. So the man went up and said, " The box looks very heavy. Let me give you a hand. "
"That's very kind of you," the woman said, "I'm having a lot of trouble with it. Maybe it slicks (卡住)in the car door. "
"Together we'11 soon move it," the man said. "I'll get in and take the other end. " And he got in the car.
"Right," the man said. "I'm ready," and he began to push the box hard.
For several minutes, the man and die woman tried to move the box. Soon they felt very tired.
They rested for a moment. Then the woman said, "Let's try again. One, two, three!" They went on moving the box.
At last, when they were exhausted, the man said, "I'm sorry, but I don't think there' a any way to get it out of your car. "
"Gel it out?" the woman cried. "I'm trying to get it in! You know?"
A funny thing happened to my sister Tina last month. She lives in Japan and teaches English. In Japan, people don't usually wear their outdoor shoes in the house or in school, and a lot of buildings have places for shoes. So her school has a special place for shoes.
One Friday, she went to school, and she put her shoes in the shoe box—as usual. Then she had an interesting spoken English class with her students. But to her surprise, her shoes weren't in the box. There was only another pair of shoes there, and they weren't her shoes! She had to get home in a hurry.
On Monday, at her next English class, her shoes were in a shopping hag on her desk! There was a note that said, "I'm so sorry. I took your shoes by mistake!" Somebody felt a lot of shame. "

The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. All people living away from home go back, becoming the busiest time for transportation systems of about half a month from the Spring Festival. Airports, railway stations and long-distance bus stations are crowded with home returnees(返回者).
The Spring Festival fells on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, often one month later than the Gregorian(阳历)calendar. It started in the Shang Dynasty ( 1600 BC - 1100 BC) from the people's respect for gods and ancestors (祖先)at the end of an old year and the beginning of a new one.
Strictly speaking, the Spring Festival starts ever)- year in the early days of the 12th lunar month and will last till the middle 1st lunar month of the next year. Of them, the most important days are Spring Festival Eve and the first three days. The Chinese government now promises people to have seven days off for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
