Mickey Mouse is a cartoon mouse that anyone would like to have in his or her house. Do you know how Mickey Mouse made Walt Disney so 1?
When Walt was 26 years old, he was sad 2 his cartoons were not sold. One day, when he was returning to his little studio (工作室)with his wife, he wanted to think of something interesting 3 his next cartoon. Suddenly, he 4 the idea of drawing a mouse. Although most people 5 mice, it's simple to love them. So Mr. and Mrs. Disney began drawing their mouse. And then Walt 6 the mouse Mortimer. But his wife said, "No, I'd like to call it Mickey. Mickey Mouse."
At first, Walt had a hard time selling his cartoon. He went from studio to studio, but 7 liked his scripts (手稿). 8, a man at a small theater agreed to film the cartoon. To their 9, the cartoon sold very well. It broke all 10. In the end, Disney became very popular, and everyone wanted to know more about Mickey.

A father and his son went to a kite-flying festival. The son was happy when he saw the sky filled with colorful kites. The father bought a kite for his son. The son started to fly the kite. Soon, his kite was high up in the sky. After a while, the son said, "Father, it seems that the string is stopping the kite from flying higher. If we cut it, it will be free and fly even higher." The father cut the string. The kite started to go higher.
But slowly, the kite started to come down. It soon fell to the ground. The son was surprised to see this. He asked his father, "I thought that after cutting the string, the kite would fly higher. Why did it fall down?" The father said, "The string was not stopping the kite from going higher, but was helping it stay in the sky. But when you cut the string, it could no longer help the kite."
Sometimes, we may feel like some things are holding us back and stopping us from growing. But in fact, these might be the things that help us the most.
There is an old saying that all of us are born with two bags hung on our necks. The small bag in the front is filled with other people's faults (缺点), while the big one at the back is full of our own faults.
This makes it easy to find other people's faults, but hard to see our own faults behind us.
A boy named Tommy had four friends: Simon, Jack, Johnny and Harry. He saw other people's faults very quickly. When Simon was impatient (不耐烦的) with him, he said to Simon: "It's so easy for you to get angry. It is hard to be friends with you."
Later that day, Tommy told his mother about Jack's dishonesty (不诚实). "Jack often takes my things without asking." Tommy himself did not like sharing his things with anyone.
When Johnny was too tired to play with him, he said: "You are such a rude(粗鲁的) person." He thought Harry was proud(骄傲) of his rich parents. At last, he had few good friends.
If only Tommy would turn the bags around, he would find his own impatience, dishonesty, bad manners and vanity (虚荣). They were no better than that of Simon, Jack, Johnny or Harry.

How healthy are your teeth? Are you lazy about brushing them? Now a new electric toothbrush (电动牙刷) can help you know how long and how well you brush.
The Kolibree toothbrush was shown at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. It shows how it is moved and that it can send the information to an Android phone or iPhone.
The toothbrush will be able to teach you to brush right (don't forget the insides of the teeth!) and make sure you're brushing long enough. "It's kind of like having a dentist watch you brushing," says Thomas Serval, the French inventor.
The toothbrush will also be able to talk to other APPs on your phone, so developers could, for example, make a game controlled (控制) by your toothbrush. You could get points for beating monsters (怪物) while brushing your teeth. "We try to make it smart but also fun," Serval says.
Why did Serval invent the toothbrush? He says this idea is from his experience as a father. Every day, he asked his kids if they brushed their teeth after he came home from work. They said "yes," but Serval always found their toothbrush heads dry. He decided he needed a brush that really told him how well his children brushed.
The company says the Kolibree will be on sale this summer, for $99 to $199. The U.S. is the first market.

Can we escape(逃避)from real life? Is there a world where we can do anything we want? The movie Ready Player One (《头号玩家》), shows a world where these things can happen.
The story happens in 2045. Most people are enjoying themselves in a virtual (虚拟的) world called Oasis. With a pair of goggles (护目镜), they can go anywhere and do anything in this world.
But when Oasis inventor James dies, he leaves behind a challenge, asking players to find an egg inside his virtual world. The winner will be able to get Oasis. Wade Watts, a young man, and his friends are the winners. The movie also encourages people to pay attention to reality (现实). At the end of the film, Watts meets James in the virtual world. James tells Watts that he creates Oasis because he can't get along well with people in real life.
After realizing "reality is the only thing that is real", Watts makes a decision that allows Oasis players to enjoy real life.

It's important for us to get enough sleep. I not, we'll feel tired and unhappy. And tired students usually think slowly. As a result, they can't u what the teacher says in class.
We can't change our school time, but there are still ways to get e sleep. Stay away from coke and coffee at night, because they make i hard for you to fall asleep. Watch fewer TV series and leave your mobile phone and computer on your desk. Then your sleep will be improved. And you will live a better and h life.
