When we think of paper, we think of newspapers and books. But there are many other uses. Only half of the world's paper is used for books and newspaper. Paper is very good for keeping you warm. You have perhaps seen homeless men sleep on a large number of newspaper. In Finland, it is sometimes --40℃ in winter. The farmers wear paper boots in the snow. Nothing could be warmer.
Each year, more and more things are made of paper. We have had paper cups and plates for a long time. But now we hear that chairs, tables, and even beds can be made of paper. With paper boots and shoes, you can wear paper hats, paper dresses, and paper raincoats. When you have used them once, you throw them away and buy new ones.
The latest use of paper seems to be paper houses. These are not small houses for children to play in, but real, big houses for people to live in. You can buy a house with three rooms for about 500 dollars. You can put it up by yourself in a few hours, and you can use it for about five years.
Have we ever thought what we read for information or skills? How do we feel when we read, excited or upset? We read word by word aloud and think about them. Is that enough? I think reading is more than pronouncing or thinking about words.

Driving around New Zealand may be different from driving in your own country. It's necessary for you to know more traffic information if you are traveling to New Zealand. Here are some tips to help you drive safely in New Zealand.
In New Zealand, traffic goes on the left side of the road and the driver sits on the right of the car. If you are used to driving on the right, you need to be careful all the time.
In general, driving in New Zealand is stress-free. The only major difference is the "give way to the right" rule. If the other car would hit your driver's side door, you should give away. Anyone behind a give way sign must give way to any cars on roads without the give way sign. Failure to give way will result in a $150 fine.
You must slow to 20km/h when you pass a school bus, even if the school bus is on the opposite side of the road. Some school buses have a yellow and black sign saying "SCHOOL" but no other warning signs. There are a lot of school buses on the roads between 7a.m. and 9a.m., 3p.m. and 5p.m. on any school day, so you need to take care.
Pay attention to farm animals on the road, especially in the countries. On seeing them, you should stop and let the animals do past you or follow the farmer's instruction.
The seat belts must be worn by the drivers. If you're caught not wearing your seat belt, you'll be fined.
A. Seat belts. B. Keep left. C. Give way to the right. D. Animals on the road. E. School buses. |
Life Is Like the Four Seasons
A . Then the days got shorter. Leaves fell from the trees. My child became a university student and then an engineer. My home was much quieter. I started walking more slowly.
B . In my twenties, I had a good job. I was strong and happy. Then I got married and had a child. In those days, I didn't have much time to think. Every day I was busy and worked very hard. And so, I started to get some white hair. The summer of my life passed quickly.
C . One day, I stopped working .I had more time. I understood this was my autumn, a beautiful time when the trees change colors and give us delicious fruits.
D . As time went by, the days kept getting shorter and colder. The winter has come. I am older and weaker. I know I do not have many days left, but I will enjoy them to the end.
E . When I was young, it was the spring of my life. After I was born, I played a lot, and then I started to go to school. I learned many new things. Like a flower, I grew bigger every day. There were happy days and sad days. Sometimes the sun shone, and sometimes it didn't.

When I was a boy, Iused to travel by bus or by motorbike. My grandparents used to live in a smalltown, but my parents used to work in another town. It's far from my home to mygrandparents'. It's about 100 miles. We used to take a bus or ride a motorbiketo visit my grandparents. There were always many people on the bus. I alwaysfelt terrible when I was on it. Therefore (因此),my parents used to take me to my grandparents' home by motorbike, but it wastoo cold in winter. We had to stop to stay warm for a while and have a shortrest for several times on the way.
Now, it has changed alot. My father bought a nice car three years ago. We can drive to mygrandparents' home. And I am an 18-year-old college student. I don't feelterrible even though I travel by bus. I usually feel comfortable when I travelby car.
Dear editor,
I'm writing to tell you something about how children from different countries choose gifts for mothers on Mother's Day.
Anita is from England. She'd like to give a scarf a gift to her mother. Anita thinks her mother really needs a nice scarf and she likes white best.
Jacob comes from the USA. He'd like to give his mother a hand-made card. Because it's easy to and it means a lot.
Zhang Peng is from China. He wants to give his mother a nice cup. Then she can use it to a cup of tea and have a good rest after work.
Looking to your replay.
