Carlton Joseph is a fashion designer(服装设计师), but not just any fashion designer. He appears on television, he writes books, and he owns his fashion house.
Born in 1980, Carlton started designing clothes when he was eleven. His father owned a clothes store, and Carlton used to work there at the weekend. Then he did a design course at college.
When he was 21, someone suggested doing a TV program. He made his first show "Carlton's Clothes" in 2004, and he wrote his first book in the same year. Since then he has written four more. Carlton got married to TV producer Susan Mills in 2005.
Three months ago, Carlton started his new company. He called it "Design Carlton".
At work Carlton always wears black trousers and a blank coat, but at home, or when he goes out, he wears clothes with bright colors (red, blue and yellow). He is especially crazy about new glasses, he buys a new pair every few weeks. "I like to look different every day," he says.
Carlton started wearing glasses when he was twelve. He dyed(给……染色) his hair red when he was 18. It is still red, and this year, for the first time, he has grown a beard. "My wife likes it, that's why" is his explanation. But his beard is black.
As kids, we learn how to write, maybe play a musical instrument and draw. So why don't we learn to code(编码)computer programs too. What coding has in common with writing, playing music and creating art is that it lets you bring your ideas to life. Coding is all about creativity and that's why I love it.
Creating with code
CoderDojo helps young people around the world to learn computer programming for free. When I went to my first CoderDojo class in Dublin City University in Ireland, at age nine, I didn't know anything about coding or even what it was. But I remember making my very first web page that first day, and being surprised that I could create such a thing. It was a great feeling that I think every young person should experience!
By going to CoderDojo every week, I learned how to make websites, apps and games. One of my apps is called Auto-journalist. It can help journalists(记者)and interviewees do interviews even if they are both really busy or live in different time zones. It is still in development, and it first appeared at an event called Coolest Projects Awards, where young people get to show the public what they have created with code. It's so much fun to share one's creations, and to see what everyone else has made too.
Learning environment
For the past three years I have also been helping to teach other young people at CoderDojo DCU. In recent years I have also noticed many more girls attending CoderDojo DCU to try out coding. This has a lot to do with the CoderDojo girls' classes—girls and young women take part in it with their friends, and it doesn't feel like coding is a "boy thing". It is really wonderful to see this, because we need more girls and women in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). It's a good way to learn more about technology.
Start early
One of the main things I have learned in the last few years is that coding is not only for adults, coding is for young people, too. And when you are a child, it is a great time to start coding, because your imagination is the limit for what you can create!

When you think about competitions, you probably think of sports such as basketball and football. Not all serious competitive events require physical strength, though. One example is the Rock Paper Scissors World Championship, in which contestants compete for large cash prizes.
Rock Paper Scissors is a simple game between two players. Each player counts to three and then "throws" one hand forward, making one of three hand signals. A fist means "rock," a flat hand means "paper," and two extended fingers in a V shape means "scissors." Rock wins against scissors, scissors wins against paper, and paper wins against rock. Although the game is simple, many players claim that they have developed complex strategies for winning.
Some people might consider a Rock Paper Scissors contest to be strange. Around the world, though, people compete in many events that others think are crazy. In England, a 200-year-old competition sends hundreds of people running down a hill, running after a big wheel of cheese. In Finland, hopeful guitar heroes compete in the Air Guitar World Championships by playing invisible guitars(隐形吉他) in front of an audience. Wales hosts the yearly World Bog Snorkelling Championships(世界沼泽浮潜锦标赛), in which contestants wear silly costumes—dressed, for example, like a mermaid or an octopus—and swim through dark, stinky bog water as the crowd cheers.
These competitions are just a few of the crazy games that people play around the world. With some practice and training, maybe you could be a prize-winner in one of those contests yourself!
A. Join a group.
B. Arrive early.
C. Be a successful athlete.
D. Spare some evenings with yourself.

This story brings to mind a colorful candy dish and a very little boy. It was between C hristmas and New Year when a few candies in a dish brightened up a boring 1 day.
It was a cold day, my 3-year-old 2, Justin, and I had run from the warmth of my parked car into the building where I had a few work-related tasks to 3. A secretary(秘书) greeted us as we brushed the 4 from our clothes. Then, with my grandchild staying close to me, I 5myself handling(处理) the business. But while my grandson's hand remained in mine, his 6 moved to the candy dish sitting nearby.
As we turned to leave, the thoughtful woman behind the desk asked the question all children 7to hear.
"Honey," she said, looking at Justin. "Would you like a 8?
The boy looked 9, his eyes meeting mine. After a slight nod from me, he 10over to the candy dish. Without hesitation(犹豫), his little hands caught one--and only one--and then he began to 11 his way back to me.
"Justin!" I said from the doorway, a little loudly as I realized manners(礼貌) had been forgotten. "what do you say? "
The little boy 12to the candy dish.
"Get grandma one, too!"
I laughed. The secretary laughed. And even little Justin innocently(天真地) 13 the fun we were having.
But in that moment. I saw something about Justin that remained long after the 14of the candy had disappeared. My grandchild was already a person with a lot of love in his heart.
In the years since, I've enjoyed a laugh or two thinking back on that moment. Really, what could be 15?
Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientific thinkers of all time. He was born on March 14th,1879 in (German). Since he was born, he was an extraordinary(非凡的) person. Einstein was not able to speak he was three. He was curious and imaginative. He loved watching things (careful) and asked a lot of questions about them. is indeed hard for his teachers to answer those questions.
Einstein started school in 1885. Though he worked hard, he still failed in some (subject) like history, geography and languages. He wasn't the teachers' favorite. Einstein finished high school in Switzerland and (enter) a university in Zurich. He graduated as a teacher of math and physics in l900.
After graduation, Einstein worked at the Patent Office. He spent as much time as he can (study) physics. By 1909, Einstein had become top scientist. He became successful in the field of science but he still put great effort in scientific research. In 192I, he won the Nobel Prize physics. Einstein kept at his research until he died in 1955.
People thought Einstein was (smart) man in the world. Scientists studied his brain after his death to see if there was anything special about it. However, there was no conclusion.
