In 2017,when the high-speed train, Fuxing, left Beijing for shanghai at a speed of350km/h, it amazed the world. It is China's newest high-speed train and alsothe fastest train in the world.
Therewere 2,959 high-speed trains running across China by 2016.They make up 60percent of the world's total high-speed trains. Chinese companies have alsobuilt more than 10 high-speed railways in Europe, Southeast Asia and SouthAmerica. And the high-speed trains have become a new name card for China.
Besidesthe high-speed trains, many other innovations (创新) have also changed people's lives in China.
For example, though bike sharing is not new itself, China has made it much more convenient and popular. When the Chinese bike sharing companies reached Singapore and Britain months ago, users there excited and couldn't wait to post photos of themselves riding the bikes on social media.
Cashless payment has become a lifestyle choice in China. It is common that people in China go shopping with no cash in pockets. Many people just pay with their mobile phones by scanning a quick respond code (QR, 二维码) from the seller. Even a person selling vegetables has a QR code.
Manyforeigners have experienced lives without carrying any cash in China. They saythey can't doit when they are back home in Europe.
China isnow in a great time. It has made great achievements in innovation. They aretrue pictures of national strength. It seems that China is really leading insome ways. And Chinese people have every reason to believe in an even brighterfuture.
This winter vacation ,the sudden new pneumonia (新冠肺炎) disrupted the pace of people's celebration of the Spring Festival, especially in Wuhan—a serious epidemic area. A large number of people's diseases led to doctors' emergency, beds' emergency, medical supplies' emergency, and a war without gunpowder was starting. But the virus didn't make us shrink back. When we learned that the epidemic in Wuhan was extremely bad, many angels in white immediately gave up their holidays and asked for their orders to go to Wuhan. Zhong Nanshan was one of them. In 2003, he was ordered to fight against SARS. 17 years later, He is 84 years old. But he came to the front again to fight against the new type of pneumonia. Like him, other doctors and nurses gave up the time of reunion with their relatives, ate the simplest instant noodles, and fell asleep when they were tired at any place. As the saying goes, no matter what time is quiet, only someone is carrying a load.
Besides them, volunteers have also made great contributions. Many people donate money to Wuhan, such as masks and protecting clothing. A large number of rescue teams went to Wuhan.
Now that we have successfully isolated the virus, I believe that a vaccine will be developed soon. So how do we protect ourselves? We should wash our hands and wear masks frequently, go out less, exercise more, and reduce the contact with dense crowd.
Come on, Wuhan, China. We are sure to succeed in this anti-epidemic campaign.

Last weekend, I took Lucy to a park, where she discovered a track with large bumps and sharp turns. At first, I thought Lucy was able to ride her bike along the track, but she quickly found that her bike was too slow to the ground and kept getting stuck on top of the bumps.
Lucy looked at me with fear because she was still a biking newbie. I tried to encourage her too, but really, I was thinking --this is going to be a disaster. Not because I thought she would get hurt. More because I thought she wouldn't be able to pick up enough speed to balance, then get really discouraged, and give up quickly, I imaged her throwing her bicycle to the ground and then crying all the way home.
But I was only half right. Lucy did have a lot of trouble riding the bike. She couldn't find her balance. She fell many times. At one point, she almost started crying because younger kids were getting angry that she was slowing everyone else down. But she did not give up. She kept picking herself up and trying again. She even took the bike off the track and into the main park to practice pushing off and picking up speed on a flat ground. When she felt more confident, she came back. Then she did it over and over again until she finally reached her goal of going around the whole track without falling once. Then she didn't want to leave and everyone was cheering her on.
This was not a day that ended in a disaster. It was a day when Lucy learned that perseverance pays off.
a. Lucy fell and got up lots of times.
b. Lucy picked up speed on a flat ground.
c. Lucy found her bike was too slow for the bumps.
d. Lucy rode her bike around the whole track without falling once.
Now students' English handwriting gets worse and worse. That makes their teachers feel worried. Is your English handwriting beautiful?
Use paper with lines
When you write English words or sentences, you can use paper with lines. That will make your handwriting straight. Be sure to fill the lined space completely. And make sure those capital letters (大写字母) are written properly.
Slow down
If your writing is hard to read, just slow down a little. If you write too quickly, it's hard for you to stop where you should, and you may make more mistakes easily.
When you hold your pencil in the correct way, writing is much better. Some kids press down really hard when they write. That makes the handwriting bad. Try to be relaxed and don't hold the pencil so hard. Let your writing appear nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.
Draw more pictures
While you are drawing pictures, you need to use the skills to control your pencil better. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by drawing at home.
Handwriting is very important. Imagine you are a famous movie star or a well-known sports player, what do you do when your fans run up to you? Give them your autographs (亲笔签名), of course!
A. If not, here are four steps that really! B. Hold your pencil right. C. Drawing can improve your handwriting. D. Going slower makes your handwriting cleaner. E. Those lines on the paper can help you to write words in the right size. |

Chinese people have been the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoying mooncakes for centuries. Mooncakes are in the shape of a full moon on the Mid-Autumn night. They carry people's to the families they love and miss.
There are many folk stories about this festival. However, most people think that the story of Chang'e is the most touching. Chang'e was Hou Yi's beautiful wife. After Hou Yi down the nine suns, a goddess gave him magic medicine to thank . took this could live forever, and Hou Yi planned to take it with Chang'e. , a bad man, Pang Meng, tried to steal the medicine when Hou Yi was not at home. Chang'e refused to give it to him and took it all. She became very light and flew up to the moon. Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night. One night, he found that the moon was so and round that he could see his wife there. He laid out her favorite fruits and desserts in the garden. How he wished that Chang'e could come back!
After this, people started the tradition of admiring the moon and mooncakes with their families.
