We have three meals a day.
In the morning，we have breakfast．It is at about 6 or 7 o'clock．Breakfast should be good．We can have milk，egg，bread and other things．Some students often have no breakfast．It is very bad for their health.
In China，lunch is the main meal of the day．It is at about 12 o'clock．It is a big meal．There are often three or four dishes．We should be full after lunch.
We usually have supper at about 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening．We should have a small supper.
But in England，people call the main meal dinner．It often means supper.
Perfect Presents
David is going to American to stay with his penfriend, Chris．David wants to take some presents with him.
Chris lives in New York with his parents and his two sisters．We both love sports, especially （特别，尤其）football and basketball.
My mum thinks it is a good idea to take presents for all the family．So here I am on a shopping trip with my mum.
I know what I want for Chris．I am buying him a football shirt．He is a big Chelsea fan（切尔西球队球迷）．It's expensive but it's the perfect （极好的）present．Mum has good ideas about what to buy for Chris's parents．She suggests（建议） some typical（典型的） English foods like tea and marmalade（果酱）．We find a great shop．It has just what we want．Mum also buys them a photo of London.
That just leaves Chris's sisters．We go to a toy shop and I see some beautiful teddy bears．They are all in different colours and say “Greetings （问候）from London.” They are perfect．Now I'm ready（准备） for my holiday.
Volunteers are people who do a job for the satisfaction (满足感)of helping others．
Volunteers do many different types of jobs．Some volunteers read books onto tapes so that people with poor eyesight（视力）can listen．
Some volunteers deliver meals to elderly or sick people.
Some volunteers help tourists (游客) who visit a city during a major event like the Olympic Games or the Commonwealth Games.
Volunteers help whenever a community is hit by a natural（自然的）disaster（灾害）.
Volunteers assist（援助，帮助）in putting out（扑灭）bush（灌木丛）fires．They might also help to evacuate（疏散）people from areas that have been flooded or hit by an earthquake（地震）or tsunami（海啸）.
A community may not recover（恢复正常）without the help of volunteers.
Some communities require volunteers more than others.
Communities that don't have much money require a great deal of help from volunteers.
Communities with a large number of elderly people might require more help from volunteers than communities with more young people．Without volunteers, some communities couldn't operate.
Today is Saturday．It's also the Teachers' Day, Lily and Tom's mother's festival．They get up early in the morning and want to help their mother do the housework．They first clean the room and then wash the clothes．And then they make breakfast for their mother Lisa．
It takes Lily and Tom a long time to make the breakfast．They make a chicken hamburger and some salad．These are Lisa's favourite food．They also prepare(准备) a glass of milk．They think it's healthy for their mother．Then they go to their parents' room with the food and drink.
Dad sits on the sofa and reads a newspaper to Lisa．There is much interesting news(新闻) in it．Lisa also thinks it is fun．They seem very happy．“Good morning, Mum and Dad,” say Lily and Tom．Then they walk to their mother and say“Mum, Happy Teachers' Day!”
Mum looks at the children and the breakfast．“Thank you so much!” Lisa feels very warm now.
