Mr Zhang was a sportsfan. He worked in a hospital in the capital. He was busy all the time and hadlittle time to have a rest. And one day he felt unwell and couldn't go onworking. He decided to spend a week's holiday in a quiet village where he couldgo swimming or fishing. He got off at a small train station and soon got to aquiet village. He took a room hotel and went to sleep after he had a good meal.
At first Mr Zhangenjoyed himself there. He could do everything he wanted and went everywhere heliked. Nobody disturbed (打扰)him orknocked at the door at midnight. But on the fourth day he was in trouble. Afterlunch it was very hot. He went swimming in the river. Suddenly he saw a beautifulbird in a big tree. He wanted to catch it, so he walked to it, but it found himand flew away. He began to pick some flowers in the forest and before long helost his way.
The sun had gone downand night had fallen before Mr. Zhang found a small restaurant in anothervillage. He came in and told them to bring him some bread, two eggs and a glassof tea. After a while his food was brought. Soon he ate up all the bread andeggs. When he was going to have the tea, he found there was a fly in the glass.
"What's in mytea?" Mr. Zhang called out, "A fly."

Although it was only autumn, everything outside was colored white. Unexpectedly, we were hit by a big snow storm and no one was prepared.
We have two apple trees in our backyard. Prana, our dog, loves apples. When she goes outside, she usually digs out a dirty apple from the ground and then quickly eats it.
On the day that it snowed too early in the season, Prana went outside and I watched her from the window. I noticed that she was digging lots of holes and bringing out the apples buried (掩埋) under the snow. She seemed to be glad to dig out as many apples as she could.
But when she came back inside, she brought back only one. About five minutes later, I looked outside. The yard was completely covered with birds. Prana had dug up all those apples for her bird friends to eat. She knew that they hadn't prepared enough food for the early ''winter".
This beautiful act of unselfish (无私的)love from an animal taught me what real kindness was.
