We kids have different ways to get in touch with each other now. And1the old, they'd like to go to the market or2each other's houses, but for the young, we kids needn't follow the3of doing so.
The4way for us to get in touch and make5 is to use the Internet services, like QQ. A lot of websites such as www.qq.com have appeared (出现) in the last few years and offered such kinds of services for free. So we can make friends6through the Internet. Maybe we do not7all these “friends” well. We add friends only how we seem cooler with more friends online.
Then8do we kids keep in touch with friends online? We make it by sending our9to each other. At times, “friends”10 “be missing” for months without a message. Is this the friendship in the 21st century?
Of course, using these Internet services is not just for saying “Hi, what's up?” Some of us have found long-lost classmates and friends11these websites. And at times we kill a time12a movie or get together. What's more, we kids can13our friends' favourite music when we are on the Internet.
Believe it or not, these Internet services will be14 for a while, and it is15a convenient方便 way for us to keep in touch.

Joe Read studied in this school for four years. When he finished school, he was already eighteen years old. And then his father said to him, “You finished school, and you are a good student. Now you may go to town and get a good job. They need some clever people to work in the office. The people there can get a lot of money now. If you stay at home, you can't get money from our family.” A few weeks later, Joe went to the office and asked for a job there. A man took him into a small room and gave him some questions on a piece of paper. Joe answered the questions quickly, and he gave the paper to the man. The man looked at the paper for a few minutes and then asked, “You were born on Sep. 23. But which year were you born in?” Joe answered, “Oh, every year.”
Most people want to be happy, but few know how to find happiness. Money and success alone do not bring lasting happiness. Aristotle, a Greek thinker, said, “Happiness depends on be happier.
The first secret(秘密)of happiness is to enjoy the simple things in life. Too often, we spend so much time thinking about the future — for example, getting into college or getting a good job — that we fail to enjoy the present. You should enjoy life's simple pleasures, such as reading a good book, listening to your favorite music, or spending time with close friends. People who have several close friends often live happier and healthier lives.
Another secret to live a happy life is to be active, and have hobbies where you forget your problems and time. Many people experience dancing, or playing a sport, such as swimming. You can forget about your problems, and only think about the activity.
Finally, many people find happiness in helping others. Studies show that people feel good when they spend their time helping others. If you want to feel happier, do good things for someone. You can help a friend with his or her studies, go shopping to buy food for an elderly person, or simply help out around the house by washing the dishes.
Now maybe you know how to find happiness!
In almost every big university in the United States, football is a favorite sport. American football is different. Players sometimes kick the ball, but they also throw the ball and run with it. They try to take it to the other end of the field. They have four chances to move the ball ten yards(码). They can carry it or they can throw it. If they move the ball ten yards, they can try to move it another ten yards. If they move it to the end of the field, they receive six points.
It is difficult to move the ball. Eleven men on the other team try to stop the man with the ball. If he does not move the ball ten yards, his team kicks the ball the other team.
Each university wants its own team to win. Many thousands of people come to watch. They all shout for their favorite team.
Young men and women come on the field to help the people shout more. They dance and jump while they shout.
Each team plays ten or eleven games each season. The season begins in September and ends in November. If a team is very good, it may play another game after the season ends. The best teams play again on January 1, the first day of the New Year. Many people go to see these games and many others watch them on TV.
It was the day of the big match a the city's best school team. Our couch said we could win, but it would be (困难) .We warmed up b the match, but we did not speak very much. It was very important for us to (打败) the other team.
In the early part of the match, everything went badly. We made some m , and we were not careful e with the ball. At half time the coach told us,” You are faster than them, and you have got a good (机会) .Try your best and you will win.” In the (二) half ,we heard our fans c, and it made us try even harder. In the end, we (得分) and we won the match.
Have you ever picked up a pen to write some characters, but you can't remember what look like?
You're not alone. CCTV-10 started a show (call)Chinese Character Dictation Com-petition (《中国汉字听写大会》) last year. On the show, only three out of 10 adults (correct) wrote bingjiling (ice cream 冰激凌), and no one could out penti (sneeze喷嚏). According to a survey, 94.1% of people said they had memory lapses (差错) when writing some characters.
It seems that Chinese characters are in Since the digital(数码) age began, fewer and fewer people use pens and paper. Most people now write Chinese on keyboards using pinyin. As result, many people would forget the features特征 of a Chinese character, such as its structure and ( mean ) easily.
Chinese characters are one of the world's ( old)written languages, dating back (追溯到) to 1100 BC. It's not only a way for us to record things, it's important to pass on Chinese culture. example, the character nan (male男) is made up of two parts , tian (farmland田) and li (strength力). We can tell from it that in the old times Chinese men were in charge of (负责) working on the farmland.
