Hi, I am Joe. I live in the city —Shenzhen. In the past, our city was a very small fishing village. There were not many people. Most people made a living by fishing on the sea or worked as farmers on the fields. People were very tired and hard to make money for their families. But now it is quite different. Our city becomes a big, modern, flourishing and busy city. There are many people from different cities and countries. There are also a lot of cars, buses or undergrounds in Shenzhen. Most people live in tall buildings. They do many different jobs. They are cooks, doctors, teachers, photographers or workers etc. People mostly use machines and computers to work. Everyone seems very busy. This is my city. I like my city and I like the life in my city.

"What's our world going to be in the future?" asks Tom.
"Well, no one knows, but it's interesting to guess." says Charlie. "In the future, everyone is going to carry a pocket computer. The computers will help people do all kinds of things. We are going to have very small telephones in our pocket, too. Then people are going to talk to their friends all over the world. Maybe we are going to live and work under the sea. People might build towns, factories and farms under the sea, too."
"Machines are going to do most of the work, and so people are going to have more holidays. They are going to fly to the moon and have their holidays there." says Tom.
